Die Phoenix Konstruktionen von Don<br />
Lowe dominierten die F.A.I Aero-<br />
batics in den 60er und 70er Jahren.<br />
Die bis dahin unerreichte Präzision<br />
und Aerodynamik revolutionierte die<br />
Kunstflugszene und noch heute ist<br />
dieses Modell außerordentlich beliebt.<br />
Hangar 9 präsentiert diesen Klassiker<br />
aufbauend aus Originalplänen<br />
und Formen in zeitsparender ARF<br />
Ausführung in bekannter Qualität.<br />
Der Rumpf ist aus GFK – die<br />
Tragflächen sind vollbeplankt. Das<br />
Design entspricht dem Original von<br />
Mark Radcliff, der das Modell sehr<br />
erfolgreich bei den F3A World Championship<br />
Wettbewerben von 1975 bis<br />
1981 geflogen hat.<br />
Das Modell ist vorbereitet für den<br />
Einbau eines .60 2-Takt EVOE0600<br />
mit Resorohr und einem Robarts<br />
Einziehfahrwerk.<br />
Phoenix 7<br />
Don Lowe’s Phoenix-series of air-<br />
plane designs dominated F.A.I aero-<br />
batics during the 60’s and 70’s. Their<br />
point-and-shoot precision and slip-<br />
pery, swept-wing aerodynamics com-<br />
pletely revolutionised the precision<br />
aerobatic scene. And while all of<br />
them still enjoy a sizable fan base<br />
today, the original Phoenix 7 designed<br />
in 1965 is considered by many aficionados<br />
to be the best of the bunch.<br />
Everyone can now experience the<br />
outstanding aerobatic performance of<br />
the Phoenix 7 in a fraction of the time<br />
it would take to build a kit with this<br />
exceptional ARF from Hangar 9. Built,<br />
using the original Don Lowe plans<br />
and molds, it shares the exact same<br />
dimensions and construction as a<br />
scratch-built Phoenix 7 kit right down<br />
to the beautifully painted fibre-glass<br />
fuselage and fully-sheeted wing and<br />
horizontal tail plane.<br />
Hangar 9 has even gone so far as to<br />
deck it out with the same trim scheme<br />
the Phoenix 7 champion pilot Mark<br />
Radcliff flew in the F3A World Championship<br />
competitions from 1975 to<br />
1981. Add to all this the fact it comes<br />
out of the box ready to accept Robart<br />
retracts and any lightweight .60-size<br />
2-stroke engine. The Evolution®<br />
.60NX (small case) 2-stroke engine<br />
(EVOE0600) with a tuned pipe is a<br />
particularly good combination and<br />
you’ve got a vintage aerobatic model<br />
