Erklärung der technischen Bezeichnung verschiedener Kabeltypen gemäß dem europäischen Harmonisierungsabkommen. 

Explanation of the technical designation of the most common cable types in accordance with the HARMONISATION AGREEMENT: 

Unter der Bezeichnung 

DIN 57281/VDE 0281 für Starkstromleitungen mit einer Isolierung aus thermoplastischem 

Kunststoff auf der Basis von PVC und 

DIN 57282/VDE 0282 für Starkstromleitungen mit einer Isolierung aus Gummi gelten diese 

neuen Leitungsvorschriften für die Bundesrepublik Deutschland in aktueller Fassung. 

Die harmonisierten Leitungstypen erhalten harmonisierte Typenkurzzeichen nach VDE 0281 und 

0282 (erster Buchstabe H...). 

Dies gilt auch für die zusätzlich anerkannten nationalen Typen, die eine Erweiterung der harmonisierten 

Typenreihe darstellen (erster Buchstabe A...). 

Für die von der Harmonisierung nicht erfassten nationalen Typen gelten die bisher üblichen Typenkurzzeichen 

nach VDE 0250 (erster Buchstabe N...). 

The designations 

DIN 57281/VDE 0281 for power cords insulated with thermoplastic material based on PVC and 

DIN 57282/VDE 0282 for power cords insulated with rubber material 

relate to these new regulations for the Federal Republic of Germany in their updated version. 

Those harmonized power cord types are designated with harmonized abbreviations according to 

VDE 0281 and 0282 (first letter H...) 

This also applies for additional recognised national types, which represent an expansion of the 

harmonized series (first letter A...) 

For those types not covered by the harmonisation agreement the previous desginations according 

to VDE 0250 apply (first letter N...) 

Nennspannung 

Die Nennspannung einer Leitung ist die Spannung, auf welche der Aufbau und die Prüfungen der 

Leitung hinsichtlich der elektrischen Eigenschaften bezogen werden. 

Die Nennspannung wird durch die Angabe von zwei Wechselspannungen U0/U in V ausgedrückt; 

dabei bedeuten: 

U0 Effektivwert zwischen einem Außenleiter (Phase) und der „Erde“ (nicht isolierte Umgebung) 

U Effektivwert zwischen zwei Außenleitern (Phasen) einer mehradrigen Leitung oder eines 

Systems von einadrigen Leitungen. 

Nominal Voltage 

The nominal voltage of a power cord is the voltage, to which the design and the testing specifications 

in view of electrical properties correspond. 

The nominal voltage is defined as the quotient of two alternating tensions U0/U in [V]. 

U0 represents the effective tension between an outer conductor (live) and any non-insulated 

surrounding (ground). 

U represents the effective tension between two outer conductors (live) within a complex system of 

several wires.
