The printing method determines the type of pigment.<br />
Each printing method requires special pigments to achieve<br />
the desired optical effects.<br />
Whereas very fine types are used in the offset method, coarser<br />
pigments with a distinctive sparkling effect are used in<br />
screen printing technique.<br />

Jedes Verfahren<br />

Goldbronze<br />
This is obtainable in the colours Rich Gold, Rich<br />
Pale Gold <strong>and</strong> Pale Gold. The desired colour shade<br />
is to be specified when enquiring or ordering.<br />
It should be noted that Goldbronze has reduced<br />
tolerance to nitro-cellulose <strong>and</strong>, therefore, <strong>go</strong>ld<br />
coloured NC colours are to be processed immediately<br />
after mixing.<br />

Goldbronze<br />
Diese ist in den Farben Reich<strong>go</strong>ld, Reichbleich<strong>go</strong>ld<br />
und Bleich<strong>go</strong>ld erhältlich. Bei Anfragen oder<br />
Bestellungen ist der gewünschte Farbton anzugeben.<br />
Zu beachten ist, dass Goldbronze beschränkte<br />
Verträglichkeit mit Nitrocellulose hat und daher <strong>go</strong>ldfärbige<br />
NC-Farben unmittelbar nach dem Mischen zu<br />

Particle shape <strong>and</strong> particle size have a huge influence on<br />
the properties of the pigments in various applications.<br />
So-called Cornflake pigments contain a lot of fine particles,<br />
have a broad particle size distribution <strong>and</strong> an irregular<br />
pigment shape. This results in giving the application<br />
excellent hiding power. However, the coating appears<br />
somehow greyish <strong>and</strong> shows poorer image clarity. Mixed<br />
with coloured pigments the colour shades appear unclean.<br />
Silver dollar pigments on the other h<strong>and</strong> are characterized<br />
by a very regular particle shape <strong>and</strong> a narrow particle size<br />
distribution. As they contain few tiny particles no greying<br />
occurs <strong>and</strong> when mixed with transparent coloured pigments<br />
very pure colours are possible. The smooth surface<br />
results in a better-looking reflection <strong>and</strong> thus in higher<br />
brightness <strong>and</strong> brilliance.<br />

Die Kornform und Teilchengrößenverteilung hat einen großen Einfluss<br />
auf die Eigenschaften der Pigmente in der Anwendung.<br />
Sogenannte Cornflakepigmente enthalten einerseits viel Feinanteil,<br />
und weisen eine breite Partikelgrößenverteilung sowie eine unregelmäßige<br />
Pigmentform auf. Dadurch ergibt sich in der Anwendung eine<br />
exzellente Deckkraft, allerdings sind damit hergestellte Beschichtungen<br />
eher etwas grau und haben eine schlechtere Abbildungsschärfe. In der<br />
Mischung mit Farbpigmenten wirken die Farbtöne etwas unrein.<br />
Silberdollarpigmente auf der <strong>and</strong>eren Seite zeichnen sich durch eine<br />
sehr reguläre Partikelform sowie eine sehr enge Partikelgrößenverteilung<br />
aus. Weil sie dementsprechend wenig feinste Partikel enthalten, tritt<br />
keine Vergrauung auf, und es können in Abmischung mit transparenten<br />
Buntpigmenten sehr reine Farbtöne erzielt werden. Die glatte<br />
Oberfläche bewirkt eine verbesserte gerichtete Reflexion und damit<br />
eine bessere Helligkeit und Brillanz.

Blitz ® Splendal > aluminium in its noblest form<br />
Blitz ® Splendal > Aluminium in seiner edelsten Form<br />
Blitz ® Splendal is a series of aluminium pigment suspensions with<br />
exceptional brilliance. Because of the special production process of<br />
cutting off evaporated aluminium (PVD), the pigments are very thin<br />
<strong>and</strong> have an extremely smooth <strong>and</strong> flat surface. Thus extraordinary<br />
bright <strong>and</strong> shiny as well as chrome <strong>and</strong> mirror effects are possible.<br />
The different pigments in this series differ substantially only by the<br />
thickness of the pigment. The resulting effects in the application are<br />
shown schematically in the chart below.<br />
The most frequently used type is Blitz® 6001 because of its diversity.<br />
If, however, particularly intense chrome or mirror effect is desired<br />
Blitz® Splendal 6002 <strong>and</strong> 6003 are preferred.<br />

Blitz ® Splendal ist eine Serie von Aluminium-Pigmentsuspensionen mit<br />
außergewöhnlicher Brillanz. Durch den speziellen Herstellungsprozess<br />
über Abschneidung von verdampftem Aluminium (PVD-Prozess) sind die<br />
Pigmente sehr dünn und haben eine äußerst glatte und gleichmäßige<br />
Oberfläche. Dadurch werden extrem brillante und glänzende Effekte bis hin<br />
zu Chrom- und Spiegeleffekten möglich.<br />
Die verschiedenen Pigmente dieser Serie unterscheiden sich im Wesentlichen<br />
nur durch die Pigmentdicke. Die Auswirkungen in der Anwendung sind in<br />
unten stehendem Diagramm schematisch dargestellt.<br />
Die am öftesten eingesetzte Type ist aufgrund ihrer Vielfältigkeit Blitz®<br />
Splendal 6001. Wenn jedoch besonders intensiver Chrom- bzw. Spiegeleffekt<br />
gewünscht wird, sind Blitz® Splendal 6002 und 6003 zu bevorzugen.<br />

Blitz ® Goldbronze - <strong>and</strong> Copper Pigments<br />
> for exceptional design work<br />
Blitz ® Goldbronze pigments consist of brass (copper-zinc alloy).<br />
Yellowish to reddish tones are achieved depending on the alloy.<br />
Goldbronze pigments are available in the st<strong>and</strong>ard colours<br />
Rich Gold, Rich Pale Gold, Pale Gold <strong>and</strong> Copper. If required,<br />
however, the special colour tones Sovereign Gold, Orange<br />
<strong>and</strong> Fire Red are also obtainable. These pigments produce a<br />
particularly noble <strong>go</strong>ld colour tone which cannot otherwise<br />
be achieved in this fieriness.<br />
To be noted, however, is the relatively high reactivity of<br />
the copper which can then shift the colour tone into<br />
greenish brown. These problems can be prevented with welldirected<br />
selection of the resin <strong>and</strong> the application.<br />

Blitz ® Goldbronzepigmente bestehen aus Messing ( Kupfer-Zink-<br />
Legierung). Je nach Legierung erzielt man gelbliche bis rötliche<br />
Farbtöne. Goldbronzepigmente sind st<strong>and</strong>ardmäßig in den Farben<br />
Reich<strong>go</strong>ld, Reichbleich<strong>go</strong>ld, Bleich<strong>go</strong>ld und Kupfer erhältlich. Bei<br />
Bedarf sind aber auch die Sonder<strong>far</strong>btöne Dukaten<strong>go</strong>ld, Orange<br />
und Feuerrot beziehbar.<br />
Diese Pigmente erzeugen einen besonders edlen Gold<strong>far</strong>bton,<br />
welcher in dieser Feurigkeit sonst nicht erreichbar ist.<br />
Zu beachten ist aber die relativ hohe Reaktionsbereitschaft des<br />
Kupfers, welches den Farbton dann ins grünlich Braune verschieben<br />
kann. Mit einer gezielten Auswahl des Harzes und der richtigen<br />
An wendung lassen sich diese Probleme verhindern.<br />
