Welcome!Das Deutsch-Südafrikanische Jahr der Wissenschaft2012/2013 widmet sich globalen Herausforderungen,denen sich beide Nationen stellen wollen, in siebenThemenfeldern:• Astronomie• Klimawandel• Bioökonomie• Innovation in der Gesundheitswirtschaft• Humankapitalentwicklung• Sozial- und Geisteswissenschaften• Urbanisierung/MegastädteDie Themenfelder werfen für die Menschheit relevanteFragen auf, auf die Deutschland und Südafrika in ihrerForschungskooperation gemeinsame Antworten suchen.Der Spirit dieses ambitionierten, gemeinsamen Vorhabensprägt die Gestaltung und die kommunikative Aufbereitungaller Inhalte und Ziele. Im Folgenden sind die wichtigstenGestaltungsgrundsätze und das gemeinsame Wordingzusammengefasst. Die Einhaltung dieser Richtlinien undVorgaben wird, neben einer hohen Wiedererkennbarkeit,garantieren, dass das Deutsch-Südafrikanische Jahr derWissenschaft 2012/2013 in der breiten Öffentlichkeit undbeim Fachpublikum als wertvoller Beitrag zur Gestaltungunserer Zukunft wahrgenommen wird.The German-South African Year of Science 2012/2013 isdevoting itself to global challenges that both nations aredetermined to take on; these are divided into seven thematicareas:• Astronomy• Climate change• Bioeconomy• Human capital development• Health innovation• Social sciences and humanities• Urbanisation/MegacitiesThe thematic areas raise questions with relevance for thehuman race – questions for which Germany and SouthAfrica are searching for common answers during theirresearch collaboration. The spirit of this ambitious jointproject will shape the structuring and communicationof all its subject matter and goals. Below we summarisethe project‘s most important organisational principlesand its common wording. Adherence to these guidelinesand principles, plus a high public recognition factor, willensure that the German-South African Year of Science2012/2013 will be perceived not only by experts, but alsoby the public at large, as a valuable contribution to theshaping of our future.

Der Schutzraum darf weder vonSchrift, noch von anderen Logos oder Elementen überschnittenwerden. Der Schutzraum wird bestimmt durchden Abstand (blaue Markierung), der links im Bild beschriebenwird. Ausdrücklich ausgeschlossen sind dieunten gezeigten Einsatzformen des Logos.The elements of the logo are firmly defined in relation toone another and may not be changed. In order to preventirritations, a protection zone around the logo must bemaintained. The protection zone may not be overlappedby lettering or by other logos or elements. Auf eine harmonische Ausrichtung zueinanderist zu achten.If a number of other logos is used in combination withthe logo of the German-South African Year of Science2012/2013, the protection zones of the respective logosand the rules governing sizes and proportions must becomplied with.
