The scripture lessons ofadvent make us look forward to anunknown time of the return of ourLord and Savior, Jesus Christ, aspromised and counted upon for thegenerations of a couple of millenia.We also look back and rememberhis first arrival on the scene,realizing that there wasn’t anobvious, discernable preparation forthat either.Yes, John was drawing thecrowds at the Jordon, and peoplewere a bit stirred up, but we knowit all happened – not at home or inWe’ve been told to be alert,that we won’t know the time, and Iam certain that we all will besurprised, just like the first time.However, we also have experiencedand felt the love of our God whodid himself come to show us theway in the Son.Season‘s Peace be with you,Pastor KevinFor December, New HopeUnited Methodist Fellowship willcelebrate worship with preachingall of the Sundays of Advent.Through the generosity and labor ofMike Smith we will unveil our firstnew addition for our planned newroom, a wooden cross. It is theintent for this cross to provideadditional visual focus for ourworship space and help us to sharethe story of the Seasons of theChurch Year, beginning withAdvent.There will be a special worshipon Christmas Eve @ 7:00 PM. Wewill worship in the main sanctuaryupstairs, and welcome the newbirth.And December 29, New Hopewill worship and feast at the homeof Kevin & Carol Seckel, Bäckerweg7, just a couple of blocks from the8 Dezember 2013 - Januar 2014
