This course is partly based on Jeremy Walenn’s English for Law,
Reading 2009 (Garnet Publishing, ISBN 978 1859644171), in
particular units 7, 8 (contract law) and 10 (criminal law). A lot of
effort will be put into practising the proper use of terminology in
these areas of law. While all language skills are practised, the focus
is on listening and writing. You will write case summaries, legal
opinions and/or an opinion essay. The final test in the penultimate
week consists of two parts: writing, vocabulary/grammar.
