A scene everyone has most likely seen before:<br />
Father and son are standing at the site<br />
fence of a construction site, enthralled by<br />
the goings on and work of the construction<br />
machines. These steel monsters which<br />
move, compact or remove earth, stone and<br />
other construction materials have been inspiring<br />
generations<br />
of boys and boysat-heart.<br />
After our<br />
first truck model in<br />
1982, Herpa’s former<br />

quickly<br />
developed the first<br />
construction vehicle<br />
in the range – a<br />

as a dumpster, in<br />
charge of transporting<br />
bulk material<br />
in the show case<br />
on the construction<br />
sites of model<br />
railways. After various<br />
construction<br />
vehicles, it was product manager Matthias<br />
Wolff who launched the series for collectors<br />
in 1996. For many years, all dumpsters,<br />
concrete mixers and silo placing trucks have<br />
been released with red driver’s cab and silver<br />
superstructure, and established themselves<br />
next to collector’s series of big construction<br />

small 1/87 scale (H0) world became even<br />
more perfect in 2001 when the first construction<br />
machine, a Liebherr L580 wheel loader,<br />
was released. Since those days, there has<br />
been no end of possibilities in creating model<br />
construction sites: crawler excavators, rollers,<br />
cranes, the most specialized construction<br />
vehicles, even a construction trailer or<br />
a forklift are available in the Herpa range. In<br />
combination, they allow various scenarios to<br />
be replicated, ranging from road construction<br />
to major construction sites. And here too,<br />
you will find father and son gazing transfixed<br />
at displays or simply at home in front of the<br />
