Wulf steel frames conform in shape, dimensions and fittings
to the applicable DIN regulations / to the works standards
supplementing these. Works standards and DIN regulations
may differ.
The material
Wulf steel frames are made of hot-dip galvanised thin sheet steel
as per DIN EN 10142 (sheet thickness of 1.5 mm or 2.0 mm).
The average zinc coating thickness is 13-14 µm. On request, it
is also possible to use stainless sheet steel (thickness 1.5 mm)
in grades V2A (1.4301) or V4A (1.4404). On request, this can
be sandblasted to a finished surface (using c. 240 grit). In this
regard please follow the guidelines for looking after stainless
steel frames provided by the German ‚Tore Türen Zargen‘
industry association (ttz), which is available to download from
the downloads section of our website www.wulf-zargen.de: ttz
guidelines on looking after stainless steel frames (external link).
The profile
Wulf steel frames are made on ultra-modern, CNC- controlled
trimming presses and a computer-controlled production line with
the following quality features: exact dimensions in relation to
cross-section, angularity and levelness, with a generously sized
groove for taking the sealing strip.
The fittings
Wulf steel frames cover off practically all needs and requirements
arising from the building project. A broad array of hinge
sub-structures for almost all normal hinge structures on the
market (in the case of standard frames and frames with standard
hinge sub-structures V8600 or V8618 usable left/right can be
supplied), wall protection boxes for covering lock slits, all
necessary die-cutting for latch/bolt, rule mark and floor recess
markings, spacer bracket welded or screwed, anchors supplied
loose with the frame or welded on, sealing strip for sealing and
damping closing noises.
The seal
Wulf steel frames can be supplied with seals in various colours,
designs and qualities.
The shape of the seals‘ profiles has been designed to perfectly suit
their function. By virtue of its elasticity the body of the seal adapts
itself to the cross-section of the rubber groove. The seal grades
and cross-sections available can to a large degree be adapted to
the respective requirements on site and therefore, not least thanks
to the special profile geometry, perform excellently in use - being
elastic, resilient and very good at keeping their shape. The seals
are supplied cut to practical lengths. Please follow the fitting and
care instructions included with them.
The anchors
Wulf steel frames can be supplied with all sorts of different anchoring
systems, which can be chosen according to the respective
requirements of the building.
As a rule, Wulf steel frames are fitted out as follows:
Standard frames: 8 x loose quick-fit anchors.
Standard corner frames: 3 x expansion anchors welded on
each side.
Custom frames: 8 x loose quick-fit anchors.
Stud partition frames: 4 x stud partition anchors each side,
size dependent on frame‘s throat width.
3-part frames:
with deep-drawn bore holes in the
counter-frame/frame opening,
arrangement and number adapted to
the respective requirements
2-skin frame:
depending on type of 2-skin design,
with tie-bar and sliding anchors and/
or with elbowed trapezoid and support
anchors, arrangement and number
again adapted to the respective
requirements.
The priming
The primer applied at the factory represents an optimum form of
protection for the steel frame and for the painters a very good
base for their subsequent work.
Wulf steel frames are primed at the factory by dipping and then
oven-dried. The primer, which is coloured agate grey (c. RAL
7038), is a quick-drying special primer based on polyvinyl butyral
and epoxy resin with outstanding adhesion to steel, aluminium,
zinc-plated surfaces and various plastics. By virtue of active
pigments it achieves a high level of corrosion protection. After
drying, it can be sanded wet or dry. The primer‘s average coating
thickness is around 15-20 µm. Please follow our fitting and
paint-handling instructions available in the download section of
our website.
Wulf steel frames can, on request, also be supplied powder
coated at the factory in almost any colour. Depending on the
powder used, the paint thickness in visible areas is then around
60-70 µm.
Please note that delivery times may become slightly longer due to
potentially having to procure paint in your desired colour.
The quality
Wulf steel frames are subjected to constant internal quality control
at various stages of production, plus a final check prior to being
loaded up for shipment.
As an additional service we offer the production of Wulf steel
frames based on your ideas, plans, detailed drawings or sketches.
This catalogue can therefore represent only a small selection of
what we are capable of supplying.
