SECTION 4TEST MODEHCD-ZUX9[GC TEST MODE]• This mode is used to check the fluorescent indicator tube,LEDs, keys, [MASTER VOLUME] jog, [OPERATION DIAL]jog, [X-ROUND] jog, model, destination and software version.Procedure:1. Press @/1 button to turn on the system.2. Press x button, [ENTER] button and [DISC 2] buttonsimultaneously.3. All LEDs and segments in fluorescent indicator tube are lightedup. All LEDs are lighted. The POWER LED is lighted up inred color if the system is turned off/on.4. When you want to enter to the software version display mode,press [DISC 1] button. The model and destination are displayed.5. During model and destination information display, press [DISC1] button. Each time [DISC 1] button is pressed, the fluorescentindicator tube shows the version and the software creation dateof each category software in the following sequence: MCversion, GC version, SYS version, CD version, CDDMversion, CDMA version, CDMB version, BDA version, BDBversion, ST version, TC version, TA version, TM version, MM1version, MM2 version (USB Micom) and return back to modeland destination information display.6. Press [DISC 2] button, the key check mode is activated.7. In the key check mode, the fluorescent indicator tube displays“K 0 J0 V0 X0”.Each time a button is pressed, “K” value increases. However,once a button has been pressed, it is no longer taken intoaccount.“V” value increases in the manner of 0,1, 2, 3 ... if [MASTERVOLUME] knob is turned clockwise, or it decreases in themanner of 0, 9, 8,7 ... if [MASTER VOLUME] knob is turnedcounterclockwise.“J” value increases in the manner of 0,1, 2, 3 ... if [OPERATIONDIAL] knob is turned clockwise, or it decreases in the mannerof 0, 9, 8,7 ... if [OPERATION DIAL] knob is turnedcounterclockwise.“X” value increases in the manner of 0,1, 2, 3 ... if [X-ROUND]knob is turned clockwise, or it decreases in the manner of 0,9, 8,7 ... if [X-ROUND] knob is turned counterclockwise.8. When [DISC SKIP/EX-CHANGE] button is pressed after allLEDs and segments in fluorescent indicator tube light up,alternate segments in fluorescent indicator tube and LEDswould light up. If you press [DISC SKIP/EX-CHANGE] buttonagain, another half of alternate segments in fluorescentindicator tube and LEDs would light up. Pressing [DISC SKIP/EX-CHANGE] button again would cause all segments influorescent indicator tube and LEDs light up.9. To release from this mode, press three buttons in the samemanner as step 2, or disconnect the power cord.[MC TEST MODE]• This mode is used to check operations of the respective sectionsof Amplifier and Tape.Procedure:•To enter MC Test Mode1. Press x button, [ENTER] button and [DISC 3] buttonsimultaneously.2. The disc number indicators and TAPE A and B indicators flashon the fluorescent indicator tube. The function is changed toVIDEO and the volume is changed to VOLUME MIN/MAX.• Check of Amplifier1. Press [EQ BAND/MEMORY] button repeatedly until a message“GEQ MAX” appears on the fluorescent indicator tube. GEQincreases to its maximum.2. Press [EQ BAND/MEMORY] button repeatedly until a message“GEQ MIN” appears on the fluorescent indicator tube. GEQdecreases to its minimum.3. Press [EQ BAND/MEMORY] button repeatedly until a message“GEQ FLAT” appears on the fluorescent indicator tube. GEQis set to flat.4. When the [MASTER VOLUME] knob is turned clockwise evenslightly, the sound volume increases to its maximum and amessage “VOLUME MAX” appears on the fluorescentindicator tube.5. When the [MASTER VOLUME] knob is turned counterclockwiseeven slightly, the sound volume decreases to its minimum anda message “VOLUME MIN” appears on the fluorescentindicator tube.•Tape function1. When a tape is inserted in Deck B and recording is started, thefunction is changed to VIDEO automatically. When [CD-TAPESYNC] button is pressed during recording in function, ALC(Automatic Logic Control) is turned on.2. During recording, press m/– button will stop the recordingand the function is changed to TAPE B and rewind the tape inDeck B until the recording start position and playback of thetape in Deck B is started. If the [TAPE REC PAUSE/ START]button is pressed for a pause and pressed again to resumerecording during recording time, when the tape is rewind, thetape will be rewind until the position where the pause is applied.•To release from Common Test mode1. To release from this mode, press @/1 button.2. The cold reset is enforced at the same time.[COLD RESET]• The cold reset clears all data including preset data stored inthe RAM to initial conditions. Execute this mode whenreturning the set to the customer.Procedure:1. Press @/1 button to turn on the system.2. Press x button, [ENTER] button, and @/1 buttonsimultaneously.3. “COLD RESET” appears on the fluorescent indicator tube.After that, the fluorescent indicator tube becomes blank for awhile, and the system is reset.[VACS ON/OFF]• This mode is used to switch ON and OFF the VACS (VariableAttenuation Control System).Procedure:1. Press @/1 button to turn on the system.2. Press x button and [BEAM MODE] button simultaneously.The message “VACS OFF” or “VACS ON” appears on thefluorescent indicator tube.27
