EVERYDAY LIFE TO ART<br />
The relati<strong>on</strong>ship between high art and popular culture remained topical<br />
in the decades that followed. With this in mind, in the mid-1980s,<br />
<strong>Rosa</strong> <strong>Lachenmeier</strong> created a series of paintings depicting reproducti<strong>on</strong><br />
equipment such as film projectors, photo and video cameras; using<br />
records as the background of the picture. Even then, vinyl sound carriers<br />
were already being replaced by compact disks and these, in turn, have<br />
now also landed <strong>on</strong> the "garbage heap of history", as streaming music<br />
is c<strong>on</strong>sidered the ultimate by the generati<strong>on</strong> that does not want to<br />
accumulate possessi<strong>on</strong>s.<br />
