ADMINISTRATION, LIBRARY, AND IT
Many people work in the background such that excellent research can
fully develop: thus, the IWH adminsitration is in charge of the institute’s
financial management, particularly for plannig all budgetary resources
and also all third party funding. It coordinates procurement and provides
advise on purchasing data as well hardware and software. The
administration team also undertakes facility and travel management
and is responsible for all human resources issues.
The IWH scientific library is specialised in economics and finance
and provides the institute with books, journals and online publications,
which are availabe in full-text versions and focus on the needs
of the researchers. The IWH library cooperates with the Elektronische
Zeitschriftenbibliothek Regensburg, which allows easy access to digital
offers, and it is affiliated to the Common Library Network (GBV),
too, which also allows access to may users. Thus, many cooparating
universities do benefit from the IWH library stock.
Finally, the IT team takes care of a stable and efficient technical
infrastructure. It providse the institute with high-performance servers
which responds to research demands with regard to processing speed
and data volume. The IT team also customises each workplace, advises
researchers on hardware and software and supplies the institute with
a modern safety concept.
When the curtain falls, it’s hard to think of those working behind
the scenes. But nothing runs without them – and the better the team,
the better the results!
