The arrival of COVID-19 made online teaching / learning very common worldwide and, sadly, the results are quite questionable, at least in language teaching / learning.The solution to the problem is only partly technological and partly pedagogical / psychological. The main focus here is blending the psychology of face-to-face teaching / learning and that of online teaching / learning.The teachers and teacher-trainers of the International Teacher Training &amp Development College have proved for well over three decades that by far the most efficient solution to the problem is the use of Humanistic Psychology and the Person-Centered Approach. It was discovered and summed up in &#8217The Six Necessary and Sufficient Criteria of Successful Therapy&#8217 by Dr. Carl Rogers. The stumbling block in front of the wider use of this approach is that many university psychology coursebooks, and as a matter of course the teachers who use them, talk about &#8217The Three Criteria by Carl Rogers&#8217 and it creates a situation that is very similar to the good, old &#8217The Irresistable Force Meets the Unmovable Object&#8217 setting.This is what we try to understand make understandable for our Readers.
