With this brochure we invite you to explore our university by
the numbers. Despite the ongoing challenges (the COVID-19
pandemic, the inflationary wave, the scarcity of qualified
staff) and pending budget cuts, our students, faculty and
staff continued to show strength and achieve excellence in
teaching, learning and research.
Significant progress and exceptional accomplishments
have been made in key priority areas by our university. As
an illustration, through collaborative efforts, we achieved
the publication of approximately 1,500 articles in leading
international journals and secured over 63 million euros in
external funding in 2022. The high appeal to international
students (49.4%) and international researchers (47.2%) is a
remarkable testament to our university’s international focus
and recognition.
I am honored to lead the Universität Innsbruck in the
coming years. We will approach this task with enthusiasm
and a clear sense of responsibility, working together as
a team. I believe that we can collectively build on our
accomplishments to move our university to the next level.
