ZIMBABWE
ZAMBIA
VICTORIA FALLS
KING LEWANIKA SAFARI TENT
An ancient land known for the iconic Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
has a wealth of spectacular scenery, excellent game viewing,
fine accommodation, and warm & friendly people. Zimbabwe
offers outstanding game experiences in Hwange, superb
fishing on Lake Kariba and ancient history at Great Zimbabwe.
Sharing the Victoria Falls with Zimbabwe, the options for
visitors on the Zambia side of the Victoria Falls have expanded
considerably in recent years. Choose from hideaway camps
on islands in the Zambezi or clinging to the riverbank or
smart, international quality hotels.
Highlights of Zimbabwe
• Victoria Falls: One of the largest waterfalls in the world,
offering breathtaking views and a range of activities such
as bungee jumping, white-water rafting, and scenic flights.
• Hwange National Park: Zimbabwe’s largest national park,
known for its diverse wildlife, including elephants, lions,
and giraffes.
• Mana Pools National Park: A UNESCO World Heritage Site,
famous for its beautiful landscapes, the Zambezi River, and
opportunities for canoe safaris and walking safaris.
• Great Zimbabwe: Ancient ruins of a medieval city,
a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering insights into
Zimbabwe’s rich history and culture.
Highlights of Zambia
• Victoria Falls: Shared with Zimbabwe, offers stunning views
and a range of adrenaline-pumping activities.
• South Luangwa National Park: Known for its high
concentration of leopards, as well as abundant hippos,
crocodiles, and other wildlife along the Luangwa River.
• Lower Zambezi National Park: Offers excellent game
viewing opportunities, particularly along the Zambezi
River, where visitors can enjoy boat safaris, canoeing, and
fishing.
• Kafue National Park: Zambia’s largest national park, known
for its diverse landscapes and wildlife, including lions,
elephants, and over 500 bird species.
Victoria Falls
Victoria Falls is also known as the “Adventure
Capital” of Africa, and there are so many
adrenalin-junkie activities to enjoy as well as
more sedate options for the less adventurous.
Our favourites include:
• Swimming in the Devil’s Pool
• Bungee jumping in the Zambezi Gorge
• White Water Rafting on the Zambezi River
• Tiger Fishing
• Helicopter Trips over the Falls
• Sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River, sipping a
Gin & Tonic while spotting hippo and crocodile as
well as elephant and other game on the riverbanks.
The Victoria Falls can be visited all year-round
though the water levels do vary with the
seasons. From February to May the amount
of water roaring into the Falls is phenomenal.
From June onwards the water levels recede, and
you can get some spectacular photos. When
the Zambezi is particularly low, the Falls can
be reduced to little more than a trickle on the
Zambian side, so we recommend a trip to the
Zimbabwean side too.
