Anlässlich des 150. Geburtstages des<br />
Jugendstilkünstlers am 14. Juli 2012 wurde<br />
das Gustav Klimt-Zentrum in prominenter<br />
Lage an der vom Künstler gemalten<br />
Schlossallee in Kammer am <strong>Attersee</strong><br />
errichtet. Eine multimediale Ausstellung,<br />
gestaltet vom Wiener Leopold Museum,<br />
informiert über Klimts Sommerfrische am<br />
<strong>Attersee</strong> und seine Aufenthalte in Litzlberg<br />
(Bräuhof), Kammer (Villa Oleander) und<br />
Weißenbach (Forsthaus). Weitere Highlights<br />
bieten das Klimt-Kino, ein Klimt-Shop und<br />
das angeschlossene Klimt-Café. Zusätzlich<br />
können die Spuren des Malers bei geführten<br />
Spaziergängen, individuellen Wanderungen<br />
mit Audioguides oder einer Fahrt mit<br />
dem »Klimt-Schiff« der <strong>Attersee</strong>-Schifffahrt<br />
erkundet werden.<br />

The Gustav Klimt Center in Kammer on the<br />
<strong>Attersee</strong> was established to commemorate the<br />
Jugendstil artist’s 150th birthday on the 14th of<br />
July 2012. Situated in a prime location on the very<br />
avenue in the park of Schloss Kammer once painted<br />
by Gustav Klimt, this multimedia exhibition<br />
designed by the Vienna Leopold Museum informs<br />
visitors about the summer holidays Klimt spent<br />
on the <strong>Attersee</strong> and his stays in Litzlberg (Brewery<br />
Inn), Kammer (Villa Oleander) and Weißenbach<br />
(Forester’s Lodge). Other highlights include a Klimt<br />
cinema, a Klimt shop and the adjacent Klimt café.<br />
The artist’s trail on the <strong>Attersee</strong> can be explored<br />
further on guided walks, individual walks with<br />
audio guides and trips on the »Klimt Boat«.<br />

Der Gustav Klimt-Themenweg entlang der<br />
Promenade in Kammer und Seewalchen<br />
gibt einen Überblick zu Klimts Leben und<br />
Werk und den Motiven seines Schaffens in<br />
der Umgebung seiner Sommerdomizile am<br />
Nordufer des Sees (T1-T10). Die Stelen in den<br />
übrigen Gemeinden informieren vertiefend<br />
über Klimts Besuche am <strong>Attersee</strong>. Einige<br />
Stelen sind mit quadratischen Löchern<br />
versehen. Beim Blick durch diese Ausschnitte<br />
können Sie – ähnlich wie es der Meister vor<br />
mittlerweile 100 Jahren mit einem »Motivsucher«<br />
aus Pappe getan hat – ihre eigenen<br />
»Klimt-Landschaften« komponieren. Ein<br />
zweisprachiger Text (D/E) und ausgewählte<br />
Gemälde sowie historische Fotografien und<br />
Ansichtskarten illustrieren diese Entdeckungsreise.<br />

The Artist Trail along the promenades in Kammer<br />
and Seewalchen presents an overview of Klimt’s<br />
life and oeuvre and highlights the spots where<br />
Klimt painted his landscapes in the areas<br />
surrounding his summer lodgings on the north<br />
bank of the lake (T1-T10). The panels in the other<br />
municipalities provide further information about<br />
Klimt’s sojourns on the <strong>Attersee</strong>. Some of the<br />
Klimt panels include two square holes. If you<br />
look through these holes you can compose your<br />
own »Klimt landscapes«, rather like the master<br />
about a century ago using his card »viewfinder«.<br />
A bilingual text (German/English) and a selection<br />
of paintings as well as historical photographs and<br />
postcards serve to illustrate this expedition.<br />
