2009 war unser Warm-Up,
das eigentliche Rennen startet
2010! Das Jahr 2009 mit der
Weltwirtschaftskrise - nicht
einfach für eine junge Firma,
die gerade ein neues Produkt
auf den Markt bringt! Trotzdem -
mein Team und ich geben Vollgas
und wir haben in unserem ersten
Jahr einen guten Start hingelegt.
Die „Kinderkrankheiten“ konnten
beseitigt werden, viele gloryfy-
Botschafter begleiten uns und
tragen unsere „unbreakable“-
Idee und unsere Produkte
nach außen. Neu im Team der
glorianer ist Red Bull Air Race
Pilot und Welt meister Hannes
Arch, für ihn wird es auch im
Rahmen der neuen Produktlinie
G12 ein Signature-Modell geben.
Die Wings for Life Kooperation
werden wir aufgrund des
großen Erfolges verlängern und
auch eine Kini Red Bull heroes-
Brille wird es im neuen Jahr
geben … Aber ich möchte nicht
allzu viel verraten und lasse Sie
auf Entdeckungsreise im neuen
heroes-Magazin gehen.

2009 was our warm-up - the real
race gets underway in 2010! The
crisis year 2009 - not an easy one
for a young company currently
launching a new product onto the
market! Nevertheless, my team
and I always give our all and we
got off to a good start in our first
year; we overcame the “teething
problems” and our pool of gloryfy
ambassadors is supporting
us along the way, promoting
our “unbreakable” vision and
generating invaluable exposure
for our products. New to our team
of “glorians” is Red Bull Air Race
pilot and World Champion Hannes
Arch, for whom a signature model
is already underway as part of
the new G12 product line. Due
to the resounding success, we’ll
be continuing our collaboration
with Wings for Life, and the new
year will see the launch of a new
series of Kini Red Bull heroes
shades.... but I’m not going to
give away too much yet. Instead,
I’ll leave you to delve into the new
heroes magazine. Dear gloryfyfriends
- stick with us! gloryfy

idea, a revolutionary feat of

Schon weit vor Ikarus’ sagenumwobenen Flugversuch dürfte Fliegen einer der größten Träume

Mit 16 Jahren hatte Hannes Arch das erste Mal die Möglichkeit dieses Gefühl zu erleben - bei seiner
Flug-Premiere mit einem Hängegleiter. Von da an roch Hannes Lunte und seine Karriere hob ab.
Zu viele nennenswerte Stationen gibt es, um alle zu nennen. Die Gründung der legendären

Hannes Arch was able to experience
this sensation for the first time at the
age of 16 when he made his hanggliding
debut. From that moment on,
Hannes was infected with the “flying
bug” and his career, quite literally,
took off. His accomplishments and
successes are too numerous to name
them all, but they include the formation
of the legendary Red Bull Acro Team,
countless victories in international
competition, the first B.A.S.E. jump
from the north face of the Eiger and,
of course, his 2008 Red Bull Air Race
Champion title. This man lives in the
air, so to speak. Christoph Egger,
gloryfy’s Managing Director, met up
with Hannes Arch in Hangar 7 for a
discussion of passion!

Idee - entsprechend der
magischen 12 G (gravity
force) beim Red Bull Air
Race, eine Hannes Arch Signature
mit dem Modell G12 zu machen -
prompt umgesetzt. Wie bist du mit
dem Endergebnis zufrieden?
Hannes Arch: Grundsätzlich find ich
einfach die Technik der Brille, das
Unzerbrechliche, super! Die hervorragenden
optischen Eigenschaften des
Glases, der Tragekomfort und das
Design kommen mir auch sehr entgegen.
Du bist ja 2009 als Weltmeister in die
Air Race Saison gegangen, am Ende
hat es leider für die Titelverteidigung
nicht ganz gereicht. Wie war es
Gejagter und nicht Jäger zu sein?
Hannes Arch: Es ist einfach die Luft
an der Spitze sehr dünn und es waren
ein paar kleine Fehler, die mich den
Titel gekostet haben. Einen Titel zu
verteidigen ist noch schwieriger, als ihn
zu holen, das musste ich in diesem Jahr
auch feststellen. Aber gut ... nach dem
Spiel ist vor dem Spiel! Ich freu mich
schon sehr auf die kommende Saison
und werde mich 100% auf den Sport
konzentrieren!
Ich weiss, dass du vom Extremsport
kommst, B.A.S.E.-Jumping und viele
andere waghalsige Dinge in der Luft
ausprobiert hast. Wie bist du aber
dann zur Fliegerei und zum Air Race
gekommen?
Hannes Arch: Angefangen habe ich
mit Hängegleiten und bin dann relativ
schnell zum Paragleiten gewechselt.
Ich denke man kann schon sagen, dass
ich in Europa zu den Pionieren beim
Kunstflug-Paragleiten gehört habe.
Im Jahr 1997 habe ich den Privat-
Pilotenschein gemacht und habe dann
später in der Kunstfliegerei meine
Erfüllung gefunden. Ich habe alles Geld
in das Fliegen gesteckt und als ich das
Angebot bekam, mich für RedBull Air
Race zu bewerben, war das schon eine
sehr schwierige Entscheidung. Ich musste
alles andere, 20 Jahre Extremsport,
aufgeben und mich mit 38 Jahren voll auf
etwas Neues konzentrieren - was noch
sehr unsicher für mich war. Von Anfang
an kam mir mein Gefühl für die Luft sehr
zu Gute und nach einem Jahr Training
wurde ich bereits Europameister und
stieg dann beim Red Bull Air Race als
Rookie ein und wurde im darauffolgenden
Jahr dann Weltmeister!
In diesem Sinne wünschen wir dir
alles Gute für die nächste AirRace-
Saison mit gloryfy an Bord!
Hannes, we were
quick to put Heinz
Kinigadner’s idea into
practice - the idea
of taking the astonishing 12 G
(gravity force) at the Red Bull Air
Race as the inspiration in creating
the G12 model as a Hannes Arch
signature. Are you happy with the
end result?
Hannes Arch: I find the engineering
behind the glasses as a whole, the fact
that they’re unbreakable, absolutely
fantastic! I’m also really taken with the
lenses’ excellent optical properties, the
wearing comfort and the design.
You entered the 2009 Air Race
season as defending World
Champion, but unfortunately in the
end, it wasn’t quite enough for your
keep your title. How did if feel to be
the one being pursued as opposed
to the one doing the pursuing?
Hannes Arch: It’s very tight at the top
and it was just a few minor errors that
costs me the title. Defending a title is
a lot harder than winning it - I realised
that this year. But ok … there’s always
a next time! I’m already looking forward
to the coming season and I’ll be concentrating
100% on the sport!
I know that you have an extreme
sport background. You were a base
jumper and you tried lots of other
daredevil things up in the air. How
did you get into flying and end up
joining the Air Race?
Hannes Arch: I started off with hanggliding
and quickly switched over to
paragliding. I think it’s safe to say that
I was one of the pioneers of aerobatic
paragliding in Europe. In 1997 I did my
private pilot licence and later I discovered
my true passion in life in the field
of aerobatics. I invested all my money
in flying and when I was offered the
chance of applying to join the Red Bull
Air Race it was a really hard decision.
I had to give up everything else - 20
years of extreme sport - and, at the
age of 38, concentrate on something
totally new which wasn’t even certain.
My feeling for the air helped me at lot
from the very beginning and after just
a year’s training I became European
Champion, then started with Red Bull
Air Race as a rookie and became
World Champion the following year!
On that note, we wish you all the

erbringt, auch wenn nur für kurze Zeit, persönliche Höchstleistungen
und setzt seinen Körper außergewöhnlichen Bedingungen aus. Bei

Die Rookies des gloryfy Cross-Country-Mountainbike-Teams blicken auf eine
sensationelle Saison zurück. The gloryfy cross-country mountain bike team
rookies can look back on a sensational season.
Es gab harte Rennen, es gab leichte
Rennen, es gab Dreck, Schmerzen
und Enttäuschungen. Doch Gott sei
Dank überwogen die Momente der
Freude. Nach einem langen Sommer
2009 beenden die drei gloryfy Rookies
ihre Rennsaison und können auf ein
beachtliches Erfolgskonto zurückblicken.
Max Foidl und Felix Wiesbauer
konnten in diesem Sommer neben
etlichen Top 5 Platzierungen 3 bzw. 2
Siege für sich verbuchen. Und Michaela
Osls Leistung spricht sowieso für sich:
mit 12 (!!!) gewonnenen Rennen, von
insgesamt 14 gefahrenen! Die restlichen
zwei Rennen waren übrigens
Silber ... Was soll man dazu noch
sagen, außer: Gratulation!

lot of dirt, pain and disappointment. But
the happy moments, thank goodness,
far outweighed the bad ones. After a
long summer, the three gloryfy rookies
ended the 2009 biking season and
can look back on a very impressive
success record. Max Foidl and Felix
Wiesbauer succeeded in securing not
only several top 5 placements, but also
3 and 2 victories respectively. And
Michaela Osl’s performance speaks
for itself - a total of 12 (!!!) victories in
just 14 competitions! (She won silver
in the other two races, by the way…).

Harrow and the financial district.
A lot of the locations were riddled
with “skatestoppers”, some were
guarded by security staff or built
using very rough concrete - which
didn’t stop our boys, however, from
taking one perfect shot after
another!

Klettern und jeder der beiden ist Weltmeister in seiner Disziplin. Ladies

Ein Eishockey-Rebell geht seinen Weg
Reto von Arx
Keine Frage - Eishockey hat in der Schweiz seinen ganz besonderen Stellenwert, vergleichbar
mit Fußball in Italien, mit Skifahren in Österreich oder Football in Amerika. Eben dort, in
der berühmten Eishockey-Liga NHL, hat Reto von Arx in der Saison 2000/2001, als erster
Schweizer Spieler, ein Tor geschossen. Damit wurde er sozusagen gewollt, oder auch
nicht, zum Schweizer Nationalhelden in Sachen Eishockey.
Without question: Ice hockey holds a very special place in Switzerland, comparable to
football in Italy, skiing in Austria or American Football in the States. And it was there, in
the 2000/2001 season of the famous ice hockey league NHL, that Reto von Arx became
the first Swiss player to score a goal. He therefore became, whether he wanted to or not,
a Swiss national hero, as far as ice hockey is concerned.

Dass er sich nicht verbiegen läßt
und gerade seinen Weg geht,
hat ihm und seiner Karriere nicht
immer nur gut getan. Nach einer
Zechtour bei den Olympischen
Spielen in Salt Lake City mit
seinem Kumpel Marcel Jenni
wurde er aus dem Schweizer
Nationalteam verbannt und nach
Hause geschickt. Seither hat
Reto von Arx nie wieder für das
Schweizer Nationalteam gespielt.
Auch intensive Gespräche
zwischen seinem Trainer und dem
Nationalteam-Chef Ralph Krüger
konnten daran nichts ändern.
Auch der letzte Versuch Krügers
2006 Reto ins Nationalteam
zurückzuholen scheiterte. Dass
er eben trotz dieser Rückschläge
immer weitergekämpft hat
und sein Können zuletzt
wieder durch den Gewinn der
Schweizer Meisterschaft mit dem
Rekordverein HC Davos erneut
unterstrich, macht ihn zu einem
“unbreakable hero”. Reto dazu:
“gloryfy ist eine super Idee und
den Spirit von unbreakable und
des geradlinigen Weges lebe ich
ja ohnehin jeden Tag, da kann ich
sowieso nicht anders! Mir macht
es Spaß, dass ich in diesem
Team dabei sein kann! Ich finde
das Engagement und die Ideen
gut. Das Team ist sehr familiär
und gerade das gefällt mir!”

The fact that he doesn‘t allow
himself to be influenced, but
rather goes his own way, has
not always been only good for
himself or for his career. After
a drinking spree with his mate
Marcel Jenni at the Olympic
Games in Salt Lake City, he was
dropped from the Swiss national
team and sent home. Since then,
Reto von Arx has never played
for the Swiss national team.
Not even intensive discussions
between his trainer and the
national team manager Ralph
Krüger could change matters.
Krüger‘s last attempt to get Reto
back into the national team in
2006 also failed. Despite these
setbacks, he always continued
to battle and finally showed
what he can do by winning the
Swiss Championship with the
record-winning club HC Davos.
This makes him an “unbreakable
hero”. Reto says: “gloryfy is a
great idea and besides, I live
the spirit of unbreakable and the
unswerving path every day, I can‘t
do any differently! It‘s a lot of fun
for me to be in this team! I think
the dedication and the ideas are
good. The team is very informal
and that‘s just what I like!”

Skateboarding auf 3.502 m
Dort wo sich normalerweise Skihasen und
Abfahrtsprofis tummeln, fanden sich Ende der
Wintersaison 2009 zwei Skateboarder aus dem
gloryfy-Heroes-Team ein, um österreichische
Skateboard-Geschichte zu schreiben. At the end
of the winter season 2009, where you normally find
ski bunnies and slope specialists romping about,
two skateboarders from the gloryfy Heroes Team
arrived to write austrian skateboard history.
Eine Session in solch Schwindel
erregenden Höhen gab es bis dato
noch nie, weshalb beide umso
motivierter waren, ihr Bestes zu
geben. Auf der 3.052 m Seehöhe
hoch gelegenen Aussichtsplattform
am Söldener Gletscher zeigten Robert
Klausner und Ralf Edlinger, dass
wahre Skateboardprofis auch in dieser
Höhen und dünner Luft ihre Tricks
so sicher wie im Schlaf beherrschen.
Die beiden Skateboard-Talente aus
dem gloryfy-heroes-Team boten Tech-
Skateboarding auf höchstem Niveau,
mit unzähligen Flip-, Revert- und
Switch-Trick-Variationen.

session at such dizzying heights,
which motivated both even more to
give their best. At the high observation
platform on the Sölden glacier, 3,052
m above sea level, Robert Klausner
and Ralf Edlinger showed that true
skateboard professionals can do their
tricks with their eyes closed, even
at this height and in thin air. The
two talented skateboarders from the
gloryfy Heroes Team gave us techskateboarding
at the highest level, with

2004 gründet Heinz Kinigadner gemeinsam mit seinem Freund Dietrich
Mateschitz die Stiftung „Wings for Life“. Mit einem klaren Ziel: die ganze
Kraft und allen Ehrgeiz der Heilung von Querschnittslähmung zu
widmen. Weltweit unterstützen Botschafter aus dem Sport- und
FOR LIFE
Unterhaltungsbereich dieses wichtige Projekt. Um unseren Teil
beizutragen, gehen E10,- jeder verkauften gloryfy „Wings for
Life“-shade an die Stiftung! In 2004, Heinz Kinigadner, together with
his friend Dietrich Mateschitz, established the foundation „Wings for
PEOPLE
Life“ with one clear objective: to devote all their power and ambition
towards healing paraplegia. Worldwide, ambassadors from the areas
of sports and entertainment are supporting this important project. In
order to play our part, €10 of every gloryfy „Wings for Life“ shades
sold go to the foundation!
