We're an independent hair<br />
studio born out of the desire to<br />
move away from the traditional<br />
salon with the churn of clients<br />
and stylists, the haste, bad<br />
lighting and weak tea. It's<br />
co-owned by renowned sylist<br />
Kenna and expert colourist and<br />
educator Sophia.<br />
Where are you based?<br />
Having moved from a secret<br />
disused theatre and the rickety<br />
upstairs of the Cat & Mutton,<br />
we’ve been settled in our current<br />
location for three years. We're<br />
in the Fieldworks complex in<br />
the heart of London Fields,<br />
overlooking the park and on<br />
Martello Street, which is perfect<br />
for reaching Broadway Market<br />
and Hackney Central.<br />
What do you specialise in?<br />
Men and women’s cut and<br />
colour. Sophia was Time Out<br />
magazine’s "most sought after<br />
blonde colourist in London".<br />
Our team all work in the fashion<br />
industry on shows, editorial<br />
shoots and on brand campaigns.<br />
They are all passionate and have<br />
a wealth of knowledge.<br />
What sets you apart?<br />
Our interiors reflect our relaxed<br />
vibe – comfortable sofas<br />
and armchairs, coffee<br />
or beer on arrival and<br />
our dog, Ron, who<br />
is always around to<br />
greet clients.<br />
Fresh flowers and<br />
vintage finds are a feast<br />
for clients' eyes. Plus, we have a<br />
varied playlist of anything from<br />
blues, to Motown and reggae.<br />
Our team is wonderful. We<br />
pride ourselves on creating a<br />

relaxed and unpretentious<br />
environment.<br />
Although the team work in the<br />
industry, we want every client<br />
to feel valued and relaxed<br />
when they are in the studio.<br />
We believe in hair that suits the<br />
client, not a trend.<br />

really want every person<br />

studio to feel valued, relaxed<br />
and leave with hair they feel<br />

Any plans for the future?<br />
To continue to provide great<br />
services for our current clients<br />
and welcome new clients to<br />
Kennaland.<br />
We are proud of our East<br />
London community and want<br />
to continue our partnership<br />
with it by supporting other local<br />
businesses.<br />
We also want to incorporate<br />
more healthy lifestyle choices<br />
into the studio by offering more<br />
organic product ranges.<br />
All new colour clients must skin<br />
test a minimum of 48 hours<br />
before any colour service.<br />
