One has to wonder<br />
whether Ben Affleck<br />
would be free to wander<br />
CIA headquarters<br />
in Langley, Virginia<br />
today, as he did a year-and-a-half ago while<br />
researching The Sum of All Fears. “How I got<br />
past the security checkpoints I do not<br />
know,” the actor says, grinning ear to ear.<br />
It seems there are places a SAG card can<br />
get you in that even a retinal scan can’t.<br />
Not only did Affleck meet the director<br />
of the CIA, he also got to “hang out” with<br />
the agents he would represent on screen<br />
in this fourth adaptation of novelist Tom<br />
Clancy’s series about CIA-man Jack Ryan.<br />
And, although much has been made of the<br />
pressure Affleck faced in playing a character<br />
already popularized by Alec Baldwin<br />
and Harrison Ford, the more imposing<br />
