The <strong>AHWI</strong> Philosophy<br />
At <strong>AHWI</strong>, we put the demands of customers first. Our extensive range of mulchers are designed and built for maximum<br />
efficiency and productivity, with ease of maintenance and minimum downtime.<br />
<strong>AHWI</strong> mulchers include features such as twin belt drives, dual overrunning clutches, durable tungsten carbide tools, gearbox<br />
synchronisation and hydraulically controlled protection flap as standard on most models.<br />
The <strong>AHWI</strong> range includes the <strong>FM</strong> models for tractors with PTO drive and three-point linkage; the RT400/<strong>UZM</strong>700 crawler<br />
tractor/mulcher unit; <strong>FM</strong>H hydraulic drive models for excavators and skid steers and the powerful <strong>RM</strong>700 mulcher with<br />
on-board drive.<br />
Tool configuration has been specifically developed to allow better mulching with fewer tools – about half the number of the<br />
competition. That means less cost for tool replacement. The tools are secured with high tensile bolts allowing tools to be<br />
replaced easily and individually. <strong>AHWI</strong> toolholders are made bigger and stronger too, avoiding costly breakages.<br />
Whether you are in forestry, agriculture, landscaping, waste control or contracting, there is an <strong>AHWI</strong> mulcher that will fulfil<br />
your requirements.<br />
<strong>FM</strong> Forestry Mulchers for Tractors<br />
<strong>FM</strong>500, <strong>FM</strong>600, <strong>FM</strong>700<br />
Designed for tractors ranging in power from 75 kW (100 hp) to 320 kW (400 hp) with<br />
PTO drive and three-point linkage, the <strong>FM</strong> Forestry Mulcher series are the workhorses<br />
of the <strong>AHWI</strong> range.<br />
Using <strong>AHWI</strong>’s patented ‘W’ linkage system, the PTO drive geometry ensures maximum<br />
power is transferred to the mulcher drum over a greater range of mulcher positions.<br />
The hydraulically operated pushbar gives the operator more control over the<br />
vegetation being mulched, and is available with or without teeth, depending on<br />
the application.<br />
Most models offer optional cutting tool installations, while the <strong>FM</strong>700 model is equipped<br />
with the Profi tool layout. This revolutionary system has a host of features which make for<br />
controllable mulching performance, long tool life and excellent serviceability.<br />

<strong>FM</strong>400H, <strong>FM</strong>500H, <strong>FM</strong>600H, <strong>FM</strong>500HSS<br />
For applications where accessibility and uneven terrain are issues, <strong>AHWI</strong>’s range of hydraulically driven mulchers are the<br />
ideal solution. Compact, powerful and built to cope with harsh conditions, the <strong>FM</strong>400H, <strong>FM</strong>500H and <strong>FM</strong>600H can be<br />
mounted on most excavators of the<br />
appropriate size.<br />
For situations where maximum power is essential, a matched powerpack provides hydraulic flow to the mulcher head,<br />
although most suitably matched excavators are capable of providing sufficient flow. The <strong>FM</strong>500H is available in two widths,<br />
the narrow model designed for mulching in confined areas, while the wider model is more suitable for larger areas. All<br />
excavator mounted mulchers can be used over a wide range of heights and can mulch vegetation and small trees ‘top-down’<br />
The <strong>FM</strong>500HSS turns your skid steer loader into an aggressive mulching machine. Suitable for loaders of between 41–90 kW<br />
(55–120 hp) with adequate hydraulic flow, the <strong>FM</strong>500HSS is perfect for mulching in confined spaces such as orchards, closely<br />
spaced plantation timber and crops. For skid steers with different flow rates, a range of pulley sets is available.<br />

<strong>RM</strong>700, <strong>UZM</strong>700A<br />
The <strong>RM</strong>700 and <strong>UZM</strong>700A are powerful mulching<br />
attachments with on-board power, suitable for wheel<br />
and tracked loaders, as well as tractors. The <strong>RM</strong>700 is<br />
mounted on a wheel or tracked loader and is driven by<br />
a massive 300 kW Cat diesel.<br />
Mulching power is delivered to the mulching rotor via<br />
fluid couplings and belt drive. The <strong>UZM</strong>700A can be<br />
configured either to be towed behind a prime mover<br />
or attached to a loader.<br />

For the most demanding situations, the RT400 crawler<br />
tractor with the perfectly matched <strong>UZM</strong>700<br />
mulcher is unsurpassed for productivity and<br />
efficiency.<br />
The RT400’s D5 tracked configuration gives it<br />
the edge in muddy and steep country, while the<br />
powerful Deutz diesel delivers plenty of power<br />
to the crawler tractor and mulching head.<br />
Full ROPS/FOPS forestry protection package and well laid<br />
out pressurised cab with integral airconditioning ensure<br />
safe working in the harshest conditions.<br />
All tools are cast from high grade steel and carbide tipped<br />
for efficient mulching and long life.<br />
Tools are secured by high tensile bolts and are individually<br />
replaceable. The <strong>AHWI</strong> tool bolting method ensures that<br />
tools are held more securely, do not<br />
work loose during operation and bolt<br />
threads are not subjected to damaging<br />
compression forces.<br />
Toolholders are built extra strong to avoid<br />
breakage, even in extreme conditions.<br />
