My team and I would like to warmly thank you,
whether you are a supplier, licence partner or
trading partner, for our successful cooperation.
It has been great fun!
Without you it would not have been possible
for us in our anniversary year to implement our
plans, such as the expansion of production in
our plant in Izmir and the opening of the concept
house in Lüneburg. Obviously, we are particularly
pleased that this year, too, we have seen an almost
double-digit growth rate.
Executive manager Heiko A. Westermann
That is why my wish for the new year is for us to
continue to use our shared strengths for 2013 to
be equally successful.
We wish you all a peaceful and good end to the
year and a happy new year!
ROY ROBSON FASHION Opens Concept House
at Its Lüneburg Headquarters
Casual wear is offered on the ground floor.
lüNeBuRG - The time had come on 25 October:
the fashion label ROY ROBSON opened its
first concept house in the heart of Lüneburg,
Am Markt 3. The entire range of the collection
will be presented on 600 square metres: business
wear, the “1922” premium line, casual wear as
well as ROY ROBSON licensed products (such
as small leather goods and sunglasses). Selected
products from other brands, like shoes by
“Prime Shoes” and “Hamlet”, as well as cosmetic
ranges for men by “Anthony”, shaving sets from
“Mühle”, exclusive scented candles by “Hype
Noses”, books, magazines and seasonal products
“The new store concept brings together fashion,
gastronomy and lifestyle in a surprising experience!”,
“The new store concept
gastronomy and lifestyle
in a surprising experience!”
Executive manager Heiko A. Westermann
said Heiko A. Westermann, proprietor of
ROY ROBSON FASHION GmbH & Co. KG.
The Markt drei Bistro is presenting creative cooking with local and seasonal ingredients.
The listed building Am Markt 3 has a particular
charm. Attention is drawn to the typical Lüneburg
bricks, beams, plaster, staircase and historical
ceiling by modern, exclusive furnishings and
lighting. This brings about an unusual atmosphere.
The store tempts you to linger and offers the
discerning clientele an unforgettable shopping
experience.
Another special feature in the concept house is
the bistro run by the company, which treats its
guests to creative cuisine and regional seasonal
products.
The celebrity footballers had the opportunity to inspect the entire
ROY ROBSON range and to take home one or two new favourite pieces
from ROY ROBSON. There were high spirits in the changing rooms – and
when the professional footballers were allowed to cook in the store’s bistro
kitchen, they really started to enjoy the photographs. This year, too, a photo
calendar will be produced in conjunction with FC St. Pauli which will be sold
Strong Partnership
in ukraine
ukRAINe - The successful partnership between
ROY ROBSON and its current franchise partner
“MANN” in ukraine has existed for more than
10 years. The cooperation started with a multibrand
store run by Ludmila and Ivan Kononenko
in their hometown of Cherkasy. Only a short
time later, the first ROY ROBSON monolabel
store opened in Poltava. In the meantime, six
more stores have been opened in the cities of
Kiev, Lviv, Odessa, donetsk and dnipropetrovsk.
All of the shops have areas of between 100 and
150 square metres. “This is ideal for us to be able
to present the entire collection from business wear
to casual wear,” said Julia Rosik, export manager
at ROY ROBSON.
In future, too, the course is set for expansion.
Just recently, in October 2012, the second store
in Kiev was opened in the Bolshevik shopping
New Licence Awarded
for Bed Linen
BORkeN - The licensing sector is also continuing
to expand. In October 2012, ROY ROBSON
awarded a licence for bed linen and sheets to
BIERBAuM in Borken. The BIERBAuM group of
companies is one of the global players on the
market in Europe and is now managed by the
fourth generation of the Bierbaum family.
650 employees, 450 of them in Germany, use
state-of-the-art and innovative technology to
manufacture high-quality bed linen and sheets
at 6 sites (3 plants in Germany). “Thanks to our
machinery, today we are even competitive against
the Far East,” said Jan Frederick Bierbaum,
proudly explaining the success of his company. As
well as the BIERBAuM brand and the well-known
brand “irisette”, ROY ROBSON bed linen will
also be successfully sold after the home textile
fair “heimtextil” in Frankfurt in 2014. A separate
design team is currently designing the collection.
ROY ROBSON Now at
Breitling in Stuttgart
STuTTGART - In early October, the ROY ROBSON sales team was
happy to take part in another important new opening: a 75-square-metre
ROY ROBSON shop space opened in the BREITLING menswear shop in
Stuttgart. The traditional shop with a sales area of 2,000 square metres
on the market square in Stuttgart has been stocking the ROY ROBSON
brand for several seasons. due to the positive sales development, an area
designed by ROY ROBSON has now been opened alongside the existing
placements in the original department. In addition to classic men’s tailoring,
shirts, ties and knitwear are presented attractively. And the premium products
of the “1922” range, which have been on the market for two seasons, have
been received very well by the store’s discerning clientele.
The opening was celebrated appropriately in Stuttgart: a massive banner
ROY ROBSON Remembers Company
Founder and Long-time Senior Manager
lüNeBuRG - This September, company founder and senior manager
Wilhelm Westermann died at the age of 86. The management and staff are
mourning a special person whose early vision and entrepreneurial spirit
laid down the foundations for the development of the ROY ROBSON
brand.
Wilhelm Westermann headed the company from the 1960s until his son
Heiko A. Westermann joined the management in the mid-1980s.
We will honour his memory.
decorated the shop façade during the opening phase, and a spectacular shop
window design along with mailing campaigns and promotions rounded off the
programme. “We are certain that our own shop space will further improve
the positive sales development in BREITLING,” predicts Heiko Leder, who is
responsible for sales in Baden-Württemberg.
Confit of Duck Breast
with Oranges & Apples, Chestnuts and Fritters
Oranges & Apples:
8 organic oranges
4 apples (sharp, e.g. Boskop or
Granny Smith)
3 tsp. finely diced shallots
3 tbsp. sugar
Orange zest
salt, black pepper
seeds from one vanilla pod
2. Wash the potatoes and boil them with their skins on. Then peel
them and mash them into a puree. Leave the puree to steam a
little on the hob, but keep your eye on it so that it doesn’t burn.
In the meantime, take the milk and butter, season with salt and
nutmeg and add it with the flour all at once. Now cook the
mixture on a low heat, stirring all the time, until it clumps
together and there is a white layer on the base of the pan. Take
the mixture from the pan, allow it to cool slightly and add the
two eggs using a mixer. Finally, knead the mixture into the potato
puree and season it. Heat the frying fat. To test whether the fat
is hot enough, hold a wooden stick in the fat. If no bubbles rise,
200 g flour
100 ml milk
50 g butter
2 eggs
Salt, nutmeg
Sugar, salt, pepper
the fat has reached the right temperature. Make small scoops
with a teaspoon, drop them into the fat and fry them.
3. Clean the chestnuts and roast them in a frying pan without fat
on a medium heat. As soon as they are cooked, they will burst
and can be removed from their skins. Halve the chestnuts and
briefly toss them with butter and sugar. Season with salt and
pepper prior to serving.
4. Grate the zest from two washed organic oranges and then
segment all of the oranges. Grate the apples with their skins
(the skin is the main source of flavour). Now sweat the shallots
in a small frying pan with butter, sugar them, then add the oranges
and apples for a short time. Briefly toss them and season.
To serve: Take the duck breasts from the baking dish and grill
them until the skin is crispy. Place all of the components on
warmed plates and serve immediately.
