STRAIN VIEWER
Function :- In consists of two polarizing filters polarize and anlyser. Analyzer can
be rotated relative to other in between the two filters in where you put the object whose
strains is to be measured. The strain in the object will affect the polarization and gives
the firings pattern of colors.
When the polariser and analyzer are arranged so that their directions are perpendicular
to each other , very little (idle Zero) Light passes through both filters . If the analyzer is
rotated a little bit, then some light will get through the polarize. Glass, which has to be
tested for strains, is placed between analyzer and polariser now rotated the analyzer so
that we can observe the light which passers through polariser and glass object.
It the galls object has stains then we can ob serve fringe pattern of colors in that area.
Stainless galls have no firings pattern of colors.
Uses :- Strain viewer is very useful optical instrument, which can be used for strain
observations in somewhat light based products of industries. We can examine glass,
plastics, salt, ruby for strains using Strain viewer.
PRODUCTION OF BIO-ETHENOL FROM FOOD WASTE
In My project :- In my project bio-ethanol is producing from waste materials like
cooked rice waste & Soya paneer waste by using fermentation and distillation process
1)First the materials of waste of rice & Soya paneer is taken in a tin in a some
proportion 2) After adding yeast granuals after I prepared its slurry by using some
water by slummy grinder and put it in a tin (airtigh.) 3) To loose that slurry add waste
and distillation process should by carried out of 78 Celsius because its is boiling point o
bio-ethanol after distillation process we get ethyl alcohol .
Conclusion :- By using such waste materials we can produce bio-ethanol because
Soya paneer contains protein & rice contains carbohydrates when this reaction balance
them we can produce Bio ethanol Bio- ethanol is used in factories chemical medicinal
& used for petrol blending This is very important fuel which not contain or produces
sulphur dioxide which lead to cause acid rain this fuel is environmental friend which is
pollutentless our nation should increase its production because it is so useful in future.
PHOTO LIGHT ILLUMINATION
Aim :- 1)To Produce photo light from sunlight by using optic fibers. 2) To produce
photo light where there is no electrical supply. 3) To reduce electrical consumption by
employing hybrid solar lighting. 4) To offer a promising solution to the National
Power shortage.
Apparatus :- A wooden cabinet receiver module consisting o dual concave mirrors
optic fibers inside the cabinet, single Beam LED battery as a light source
Principle :- Receiver module receivers the sunlight on primary concave Mirror. At
focal point of primary concave mirror, is fixed secondary concave mirror. This dual
concave mirror system gives us sunlight in it high intensity. When this high intensity
sunlight falls on optic fiber. Due to complete inner reflective property of optic fiber,
whole sunlight passes through optic cable and makes the optic fiber to glow and
illuminate light. As optic fiber is bad conductor of heat, there is no any rise in the
temperature around, where it illuminates light in offices, factories the electricity
required to reduce the elevated temperature, is saved.
PENDULUM HAND PUMP
Objective of invention : This device shows how simple scientific concepts like
Pendulum action can be used in our day to day applications like water pumping.
Background : Today energy become a crucial problem. Due to electrical load shading
water pumping is very difficult. So above mentioned equipment will helps a lot.
Construction : Above mentioned Pendulum pump system consists of oscillating
pendulum for energy generation. This kinematics energy then amplified by means of
simple leverage mechanisms and then stored by means of springs. This amplified
force will be used for operating heavy devices like hand-pump, hammer, presses etc.
Considerations : During design of this system few things like pendulum weight,
pendulum length, lever length, pump’s piston diameter need to be selected carefully
for obtaining best performance. By this way we can amplify small human force by
REUSE OF WASTE WATER FROM VEHICLES
SERVICE STATIONS & INDUSTRIES
Name and Principle : To control the water pollution caused by oil with the help of
human hair and reuse the waste water. The changes in the environment caused by
industrialization gave rise to irregularity in the rain. As a result the need of water can
not be fulfilled. Due to waste water from industries and vehicle service stations there
is rise in water pollution. To avoid this it is necessary to reduce water pollution & save
water.
Method : Data is collected from visiting observing, by taking interviews & filling
questionnaires from the owner of vehicle service stations and doing various
experiments. With the help of this experiments we found the simple method of
separating particle of mud, detergent and oil from this water.
In this working model five steps are there : I) To separate insoluble particles from
waste water we use simple filter. ii) Settling Tank – To settle mud particles.
iii) Chemical process Tank – By using barium Nitrate the ppt is formed and detergent is
separated from waste waters. iv) Human Hair Filter : To separate oil from waste water
we use human hair filter. v) The reusable
Water Tank – Waste water free from mud
particles detergent & oil is collected in this
tank. This water is useful for washing
CAR BLACK BOX
The project is a Black Box in a car. Many a times the reason of car accidents can't
be known. Which creates many problems in the investigation. The Black Box stores
and saves all the data like speed, fuel, date, day, time and temperature during the
accident which proves to be very important in further investigation, disbursement of
insurance amount etc.
It consists of as witch in the front which alerts the system a micro- controller to control
and process the system, an analog to Digital converter (ADC) to convert analog signals
into digital, etc. The Black Box helps to send all the data to an installed cell number
during accident. Even if damaged, it can provide the data by an inserted password.
The sensors behind the vehicle transmits continuous electric rays which are reflected
back to a receiver when an other vehicle comes near the car. It creates a certain sound
which makes the driver alert. Thus the accident can be prevented. Thus the Black Box
helps to know the reason of the accident and to prevent it.
WATER FLOWING MACHINE ROTATING ON BICYCLE
PADAL
Principle : This Machine converts Physical energy into Mechanical energy. In
urban area people go for a walk in the early morning but due to sunlight , wind & rain
they can’t go for morning walk. In this situation we can make use of this padal
machine for exercise. Load shading is the major problem in rural area. Though the
water is available but due to load shading the farmers can’t harvest well crops so the
farmer is found in worried. In this critical condition the farmers can make use of this
machine for giving water to the crops.
Features of this Machine : 1.This machine helps to save electricity. 2.It can be use for
watering crops and also for exercise.
Gun : This gun can be use as a sprinkler as well as for washing the vehicles. It can also
wash many types of tiles. We can use sewing machine instead of the bicycle.
Purpose : This machine carries out 3 types of works at a time:
1.Use of bicycle for exercise.
2.For drawing water from the well &
underground water tank.
3.It also operates sewing machine.
In Short : Father will ride the bicycle , the son
will fill water and the mother will sew the
TSUNAMI RESISTANCE TECHNOLOGY
•Tsunami is a wave train or series of waves generated, by impulsive disturbance
that vertically displaces the water column in a water body. •Most Tsunami are caused
by earthquakes generated in a subduction zone, an area where an oceanic plate is being
forced down into the mantle by plate tectonic forces. •The friction between the sub
ducting plate and the overriding plate is enormous.
•This friction prevents a slow and steady rate of subduction and instead the two plates
become “ stuck ”. •The result is an accumulation of energy very similar to the energy
stored in a compressed spring. •Energy can accumulate in the overriding plate over a
long period of time- decades or even centuries. •Most frequently in the Pacific ocean,
but are a global phenomenon, are possible wherever large bodies of water are found,
where they can be caused by landslides •Our aim of project is to reduce the intensity
and loss occur due to Tsunami by using technology and planned development in
coastal areas.
Tsunami can be reduced by : 1.Tsunami detector and seismograph. 2.Using tsunami
breakers. 3.Proper planned development at coastal areas. 4.Tsunami resisting and
proof buildings and houses. 5.Plantation along the coastal areas. 6.Rehabilitation in
coastal areas. 7.Construction of safer places.
8.Creating awareness among people.
MATHS PLAYGROUND
Every day, in every school throughout the country at a specified time of the day, a
teacher enters the class room. Children are perhaps hesitantly. Perhaps grudgingly take
their books and 'do Mathematics'. For them, the subject is an asset of dry rules and
procedures leading to some 'answer'. Which is not of much significance anyway? They
do not develop a love for the subject because they do not know the value and use of it.
So whenever a new topic is to be introduced it is better to draw examples from real life.
Well! Numbers can entertain us; they can puzzle our Companions and can raise us to
the level of a magician! Here is some model- The model is on! Let us be spellbound
BIOSPHERE MONITOR
Aim: To effectively bring down the rate of global warming.
Method Adopted: Capturing and liquifying atmospheric CO2 and rendering it
harmless.
Liquification Procedure: The CO2 rich air is sucked from the atmosphere and
bubbled through a tank of liquid CO2 kept at 880 F and 5.1 atmospheric pressure. The
gaseous CO2 in the air becomes liquid during the passage through the tank.
The other gases in the air are allowed to escape into the atmosphere.
Disposal of Liquid CO2 : 1. Liquid CO2 is in high demand as it has many industrial
uses.
2. Liquid CO2 can also be stored under used oil fields where it mobilises and pushes up
the unmobilised oil from below.
3. Liquid CO2 can also be stored under basalt rocks where by reaction, it becomes
harmless calcium carbonate rocks.
4. Liquid CO2 can be stored under sea beds. Even if it managers to escape from under
the sea bed, it reacts with sea water and forms harmless clathrate hydrate sediments on
the sea bed.
Conclusion: CO2 is one of the chief culprits
of global warming. This method effectively
brings down the atmospheric CO2 content
and thereby the global warming.
The SRI methodology was developed in 1983 by Fr. Hendry de laulanic in
Madagascar. Single seedling with wider spacing and good soil aeration are the main
principles. Now SRI has spread in more than 56 Countries. SRI has some advantages
such as higher production, water saving, less input(seeds), no external dependency for
agro chemical like fertilizers & pesticides ,less lodging, conservation and
sustainability of ecosystem, etc.
1. Nursery: (1) Approximately one cent nursery of raised Beds to transplant one
acre of paddy (2) Seed rate per acre: 3kg of any variety of Paddy.
2. Plant single seedling/hill: (1) Transplant single & young seedling 8-12 days old.
(2) Remove seedlings carefully without Damaging the roots and seed sack.
3. Wider spacing: (1) Transplant seedlings with a spacing of 25*25cm ( squares
using space marker or rope.
4. Weeding & soil aeration: (1) Use mechanical weeder [cono-weeder] for weed
management: uprooting in situ ploughing of seeds. (2) Drudgery reduction for the
women. (3) Evenly formed, healthy, multiple tillers.
5. Water management: (1) Alternative “wetting & drying”. (2) Keep the soil
moist but not flooded. (3) 1-2cm water is maintained in the field as soon as the panicle
initiation starts.
6. More of organic manure: (1)No chemical pollution. (2) Healthy & quality food.
GLOBAL WARMING AND CARBON DIOXIDE
Global warming is the most burning issue of the century. It has caused major ecological impact on all
living creatures (Human, animals and plants). CO 2 is a major Green House Gas. So as we increase
the quantity of CO2 in our atmosphere the temperature of Our Earth will increase drastically as hear
rays will not be able to escape from the atmosphere.
So we need to take steps for
·Reducing the quantity of CO2 being released in the atmosphere.
·Planting more and more trees.
·Using eco-friendly fules.
·Using non-conventional sources of energy.
TESLA COIL
Tesla coil is a device that produces millions of volt from its output. This coil employs the loss
coupling RF induction to produce a high frequency output voltage with Imax of about 2 to 4 ma. This
Pulsed output can be employed to produce some novel electromagnet effects only visible at very high
power, voltage and frequency. Current Tesla coil consists of a transformer that converts 1300 watt ac
to 15000 v 80 ma. This output is then directed to a handmade glass capacitor which employs 12 glass
plates Aluminum foil. Then in parallel of is a spark gap which when capacitor gets charged pulses an
arc which completes the circuit and the current is then passed to a 10 turn primary coil in whose
resonance is a hand-woven 1200 turns secondary coil. And the arc discharges the whole circuit
becomes an LCR oscillator creating an extremely fast changing magnetic flux in secondary
producing millions of volt from output. These coils can be used in Future water powered cars,
ionocraft, high energy pulsar, plasma gun. Presently it is used in x-ray devices, violet-ray devices etc.
of soil as well.
In this project a primary cell is prepared in which cow urine is used as an electrolyte anode and
cathode of copper and zinc respectively.
Cow urine contain Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Potash, sulphar, Ammonia, Mn, Urea etc. it gives ions.
This primary cell give voltage 1.5 volt for 7 days with 0.5 amp. current.
There for total energy is : W=IVT =0.5 x 1.5 x 7 x 24 =126 WH
Three cells in series is used in this project which helps to perform routine work.
TO STOP ….. ! THE TRAIN ACCIDENT
As Compared to the Other Popular means of transportation in the world Train Transport is the
most easily accessible transport. Due to High Velocity of the Trains coming from Opposite
directions on the same track, they can't be halted suddenly by applying brakes If in the engine, the
mild road of iron is wrapped by copper wires which are polished by bad conductor solution and
current is passed through the wires, magnetic field is produced. On the both ends of coils,
opposite pole are produced.
By producing same poles in all the trains, diffraction can be created. The Drivers of the trains
coming from opposite directions can produced the same magnetic poles by switching on the
current. To support the above system evenby Producing the magnetic field in the wheels of trains,
the track can be attracted.
It's result will in reduction of the velocity of the trains and help the Drivers in applying the breaks
and stop the trains. It will provides us safe & Secure journey and check the human loss.
TOILET MODIFICATION IN INDIAN TRAINS
This Project is an attempt to solve the following problem arising due to the present mode of
disposal of human waste in Indian trains with additional benefit of recycled the water after the proper
treatment. In the present model the water used in the toilet is filtered and chemically treated and
recirculated. So that water usage can be minimized as well as the release of the untreated water on to
the tracks can be avoided. After separating water , the human excreta is stored separately & can be
used to produce biogas. There are four scientific principles used in this project.
These are: 1.Collection 2.Filtration 3.Disinfection 4.Recirculation of water
The main application of the model is to minimize the pollution. Human waste, especially of sick.
Passenger may contain a large number of germs of many disease like diarrhea, cholera, typhoid,
hepatitis and other water born disease beside parasite infection. Parasite like hookworm, roundworm
and pinworm are spread mainly through human waste that result in the spread of communicable the
environment & promotes unsanitary condition. In addition of the urine also cause fastening which
can pause huge accident. Thus because of a human waste lots of people may lose their life. This
model ensures the safe disposal of human waste and beside this. It also helps in water scarcity in
trains. The human waste also can be used in bio gas plant for energy production.
SAVE WATER, SAVE ENERGY
Introduction :- In our house after the filling up of the tank, switch of the water pump
is usually shut down. If the above - stated system is not followed or making delay to
switch off the pump due to forgetting, it leads to sheer wastage of water and electricity.
In accordance with the proposed model, the pump will be automatically stopped after
its being filled up.
How does the Model Function :- The proposed model effectively works on the
systematic projection of a bell push switch and a three pin socket. A pump is attached in
that socket .Electricity will be supplied to this board. If the bell push switch is on, the
pump will be started. The pump will run and will stop Just after the tank being filled up.
A wire with graphite or carbon at its end is sank in the
tank. Acting on the way the current (0.7 – 1.2 volt), will
start moving through the water to the transistor of the
Electronic board when the water level will rise upward
.Instantly the transistor will activate a relay leading to
the stoppage of electricity in the pump and transformer
permanently.
Conclusion :- If the proposed model is used
extensively, it will certainly save a huge amount of
water as well as electricity.
SIGNAL FOR OVERLOADING
Road accident is a daily event in motor vehicles of them. The over loading of vehicles
can not be seen from out side. I have made a model how to determine the over loading
of vehicles from outside. I have used three different colors light like green, yellow and
red to indicate it. When the bus is loaded its ability, the green light will be lighted
automatically. If the loading of the bus is a little of its carrying weight i.e., the carrying
ability of the bus, the yellow light will be lighted. When the loading of the bus is more
weight then its ability, the red light will be lighted. It indicates that accident may occur
at any stage.
REPRESENT THE AREA OF A CIRCLE
BY THE AREA OF A RECTANGLE.
Purpose- To get a clear idea about the application of Geometry & the relation
between Algebra & Geometry. Also it gives the idea about circle, rectangle & square.
Required Instrument – Thin wood (Pitch Board),Cutting instruments ,various color
marker pen etc.
Implication of the project – To fulfill the mission of SSA educating every child of
the nation, we feel a crying need of the teaching – learning process attractive .More
ensuring regular attendance of the pupil does not suffice to make them taught
successfully. The traditional way of teaching creates little interest among the tender
learners especially in the harder subjects like mathematics. On the other hand every
human being is bestowed with some inherent merits of invention & creation. A child
thrills with joy when he can do something in his own effort.
The projects which we are going to represents are innovated on some basic theorem of
mathematics. Our motto is to allow our learners “learn and enjoy” applying the play
way method in the teaching – learning process. The
first effort is to convince how a basic algebraic
process can be experimented through a geometrical
approach and the second has attempted to find out an
area of a circle converting the same in to a rectangle.
Both of them claim novelty and we are sure thy are
able not only to remove the monotony due to
traditional teaching – learning system in the subject
but also to instigate their innate qualities of invention
and creativity which is or ultimate goal.
USE FULL APPLICATION OF NON-BIODEGRADABLE
ENERGY (BIO-GAS) AUTOMATED SIGNALLING SYSTEM
Introduction :- As the biodegradable energy decreases in modern civilization, Govt
along with human civilization has given an emphasis in the use of non-biodegradable
energy. These are the emblem of non-pollutant .Use of non-biodegradable energies
such as bio-gas, cow-dung in our everyday life, forecast a new pollution free
civilization. Full-fledged use of such energies signalling the modern civilization. Light
and thermal energy can be produced by cow-dung and automation depends on this
energy.
Equipments :- i.Adequate cow-dung jars. ii.A little water(75ml).
iii.Six airtight jars.
iv. Electrode – Copper plate, Zink plate, Copper wire, electric bulb.
v. A model of a bridge.
On the basis of these equipments, we can show that a bridge can't suit beyond its
overweight. Whether an over weighted vehicle may
pass or not through a bridge, depends on a signalling
system that can run by non-biodegradable energy.
This system is placed both before and after a bridge
and it works when an over loaded vehicles pass
through it. This system can identify the vehicles
.Suitable or not for the specific bridges.
Advantages :- i. This system keeps safe the total
transport system.
i i. This system saves our economy.
MANUAL ELECTRICITY PRODUCING DEVICE
(ELECTRICITY FROM STATIC CYCLE GYM. AND DRUM GYM)
Introduction : In the present age of technology we know how great is the demand of
electricity. We also know the utility of taking exercise to keep us fit. This newly
invented device will serve both the purposes at a time. In the Gym, the physical labour
that we discharge to enjoy good health, will be converted into electrical energy by dint
of the Static Cycle Gym/ Drum Gym.
Static Cycle Gym : At the time of Static Cycling, the dynamo attached to the rim with
a belt, will produce electrical energy at the cost of mechanical energy and the produced
energy will be sufficient for a small family (consisting of 4/5 healthy members), if they
individually take exercise half an hour a day. Besides, the produced energy may be
stored in a storage cell (12 or 24 volt) for further use.
Drum Gym. : In this field also, when one walks or runs on the drum, it moves along
with a co-axial rim and the dynamo fixed with a belt to it, produces electricity just as
the previous one. To get more energy the R.P.M. is to be increased by fixing a gear box
to it.
The characteristics and the implications of the newly
invented modules :- i. It will produce electricity
without polluting the nature. ii.It will develop the habit
of taking exercise among the people regularly resulting
in keeping them physically fit, mentally alert and
socially sound. iii.No bill is to be paid for electricity.
iv.It will form in us the habit of proper use of electricity.
v.It will inspire people to take exercise and evoke the
innovative mentality. The production cost of the device
will not exceed the capacity of a middle class family.
SOLAR STORM 2012
INTRODUCTION : We get sunlight by the reaction of Hydrogen, Helium, Radon
etc. gases in the Sun which generate both heat and light in the Sun.
But when this reaction occurs in a huge proportion then extra energy gets out and that
spreads out like storm that's called Soar storm.
According to research scientist predicts that this Solar Storm will may happen in 2012.
Effect : The result of this storm are furnished below :-
1.The Magnetic Field of the earth will weaken.
2.Tsunami earthquakes can occur in various areas.
3.Ionosphere can be ionized. As the effect telecommunications and
Radio broadcasting system can be disturbed.
4.A large amount of radio activity can spread. As the result of which all the power
plants can be destroyed at a time.
But it is unfortunate that our science in spite of its brilliance unable to get
a solution of it.
MAGNETIC LEVITATION AS SOURCE OF VERSATILE
POWER SUPPLY (VPS)
PREPARATION OF THE POWER SUPPLY:
When electricity passes through a conductor, a magnetic field is generated around the
conductor. When the magnetic field changes, a temporary e.m.f. is induced in the coil.
This phenomenon is termed as magnetic induction. Uniting these two concept, a
magnetic levitation set (MLS) has been prepared by using a primary coil, some
secondary coils and an iron core. The magnetic levitation set is considered as the step
down transformer required for constructing a battery eliminator. If the ends of the scoil
are closed, it jumps. The voltage across the s-coil varies, if it is moved along the
length of the core. So, the variable power supply is prepared. Now this variable A.C.
can be simply transferred to variable D.C. by using a bridge rectifier circuit.
USES OF THE VPS: Apart from the jumping of aluminium ring experiment,
phenomenon of electromagnetic induction, attraction between like currents and
repulsion between unlike currents, development
of high temperature due to eddy current,
experiments on LR circuit for determining selfinductance
L, phasor diagrams, determination of
mutual inductance, peak voltage and rms voltage
of an A.C. source, the ohm's law and its different
facts … etc. can be demonstrated with MLS.
ELECTRICITY IN BULLOCK CART
60 % People of our country are engaged in cultivating land. They lead animal
husbandry for cultivation, but the animals are utilized in ploughing time and for
maximum time the animals seated idly.
In a wide place, by setting a big wheel and by utilizing animals and by driving
A dynamo enough electric can be produced in the whole country. In this case, that
energy was being spoiled previously by the process of friction missed electric can be
produced and bulb of a car can be enlightened of night by the storing electric in
battery. We will be safe from danger and extra electric can be used in different uses
at home.
ECONOMICS IMPORTANCE
If can animal power = 5 horse power . A probable acount may be given. If we utilize
two animals in a family total 5 x 2 = 10 horse power energy achieved. Which in able
to drive 4 kv dynamo. If 4 hours or 5 hours daily 4 kv electric may be produced.
Production amount will be
4 x 4 x 5 crore kw = 80 Crore kwh (approx )
at present the value of each unit electric
in Rs = 4
total marketting = 4 x 80 Crore (approx)
= 320 Crore ( approx)
In a month = 30 x 320 = 960 Crore
(approx) To keep the environment polution
ECO-FRIENDLY POTATO BATTERIES
MAY POWER THE FUTURE
Fossil fuels (coal, petroleum, natural gas, and their derivatives) provide more than
85% of the energy used by mankind today. Unfortunately, the reserves of those fuels
are not infinite. Scientists predict that within the next two centuries we will run out of
those valuable energy sources. This is you experience energy crisis. Clearly,
something must be done. But what?
This question forced me to find out some sources of alternative energy and finally I
find out a good source of alternative energy. It is potato (a vegetable) which could be
the Batteries of the Future.
How the Potato battery works:
A potato battery is an electrochemical battery. An electrochemical cell is a cell in
which chemical energy is converted to electric energy by a spontaneous electron
transfer. Potato contains substances such as ascorbic acid, citric acid, phosphoric acid
and NADH. In the case of the potato battery, the zinc in the zinc electrode reacts with
the copper electrode. The potato acts as a
sort of buffer between the zinc ions and the
copper ions. The potato conducts
electricity, yet keeps the zinc ions and
copper ions separate, so that the electrons
in the copper electrode are forced to move
(generate current). It's not enough power to
shock us, but the potato can run a small
digital clock or a calculator.
PRODUCTION OF ELECTRICITICY FROM
EXHAUSTED BATTERY
This type of battery, which is actually zinc-carbon dry cell, is considered as a primary
cell because the cell is not intended to be recharged. But we have employed a technique
to produce electricity from an exhausted battery, just by using a solution of ordinary
salt, sodium chloride (NaCl). NaCl is ionised in water and produce positively charged
sodium ion (Na+) and negatively charged chloride ion (Cl-). Then, sodium ion moves
towards negative zinc cage and reduce deposited ZnCl2 to metallic zinc.
Simultaneously, Cl- reacts with ammonia stored on carbon rod to form ammonium
chloride and there by pure carbon rod becomes free. Thus, sodium ion and chloride ion
recharge metallic zinc and carbon rod,
We have designed a circuit to examine the working ability of the recharged battery. The
picture of our model indicates the circuit. A fan and few lights are connected with
cathode of nine inter-connected batteries by an electrical wire. Now if another wire
from the fan and lights is brought in contact
with the wire connecting with the anode
using a switch, fan rotates and lights glow.
This proves that the exhausted battery have
become active by NaCl solution. This
technique may be utilised for the power
generation in future.
HYDRAULIC BRAKE TO DEMONSTRATE BLAISE PASCAL'S
LAW AND ITS COMPARISON WITH AIR BRAKE
The most important safety feature of an automobile is its Brake System. A brake is a
mechanical device which inhibits motion. Brakes, one of the key parts of any vehicle,
without which it is virtually not possible to use the vehicle for travel, should not be too
weak as it provides safe, repeatable stopping which is the key to safe motoring.
Therefore, a clear understanding of the brake system is essential for anyone involved
in servicing vehicles.
There are basically three types of brakes used in automobiles:
·Mechanical brakes ·Hydraulic brakes ·Air brakes and related type of brakes
The main braking system of the car works by hydraulics as it can transfer a huge
amount of energy. This means the driver presses brake pedal, liquid pressure forces
pistons to apply brakes on each wheel. Based on Blaise Pascal's Law which states that
pressure applied anywhere to an enclosed body of fluid is transmitted equally to every
other part of liquid, the hydraulic brake system uses brake fluid to transfer pressure
from the brake pedal to the pads or shoe. By exercising the pedal, brake fluid transfers
this pressure to the brake pads. This transfer of
pressure is reliable and consistent because
liquids are not compressible, In brief, when a
driver applies pressure at the brake pedal, the
mechanical force i.e. stepping of driver on pedal
is changed to hydraulic pressure which is
transmitted through liquid to respective wheel
cylinder and changed back to mechanical force.
BALANCE FOR THE BLIND
Introduction : Visual impairment is one of those disabilities which may cripple a
person for life. This simple new model will be of great help to those who are visually
impaired. They can measure the weights of different articles without any help from
others.
Description : It is a modified version of an ordinary balance. In this balance a semicircular
plastic tube is attached to its main frame with the help of tapes. Some mercury
is poured into the tube. Two electric wires are inserted into the two open ends of the
tube. The ends of the wires are kept in such a way that they touch the surface of the
mercury when the balance is in equilibrium position. Since mercury is a good
conductor of electricity, the moment, the ends of the wires touch the surface of the
mercury, the circuit will be completed. Two dry cells and an electric bell are also
connected to the circuit. The position of one beam will tilt to one side when weights are
kept on it and when the balance is in equilibrium state the circuit will be completed, and
the bell will ring instantly. Thus the exact weights of different articles can be measured.
INVISIBLE LIGHT
The exhibit consists of a picture of 'Solar System' which is an ordinary object in
ordinary light. When it is seen in U.V. light it emits light with glows. The idea behind
showing our 'Solar System' with bright planets against a dark-ground stem on using
'Fluorescence'.
'Fluorescence' is the property of certain compound i.e. Barium Palatino cyanide,
Barium Chloride etc. absorb invisible high energy beam and transform into visible
light emerging from it.
For the project thus (i) a fluorescence compound and (ii) a high energy source are used.
Here Ba[Pl(CN)6] is used in painting the target parts. For the source , x-ray, , - source
could be used. Here, U.V bulb of low Walt is used.
The parts of picture absorb high energy frequency i.e. the frequency of light which
wavelength (4 x 10-7 nm – 6 x 10-10 nm) are invisible region (wavelength: 4000A0 –
7000A0).
So the planets are visible in the absence of light. All the high
energy source are biologically hazardous to handle. U.V source
is much less hazardous and used with precautions.
MASS COUNTING MACHINE
Mechanism : (use of light and darkness) The L.D.R is placed in a black wooden box
a very narrow hole. Now, if we use the torch and drop Light on L.D.R. through the hole,
the resistance of L.D.R. decreses and the 'n' and 'y' parts of the button are connected and
the calculator calculates and gives the cardinal numbers serially after using the torch
again and again.
Use for Mass counting :
If we place the L.D.R. at one ride of the entrance of a hall and put the torch on the other
side, then when people enter into the hall one by one, the Light – Falling on L.D.R. is
disrupted again and again. And this is how, the calculator automatically displays the
number adding 1 every time at last, we get the total count after deduction of 1 from the
totl as the calculator already displays '1' after using 1 button at first.
·Limitation : Only one man should be entered into the hall at one time.
·Advantage : This model is very tight and it atakes a small place to put and it is not an
expensive one to build up.
ECONOMICAL COLD STORAGE
The preparation starts with making a plywood box having a door with lock . The floor
of the box contains many small holes. The roof of the box contains a big circular
hole. The inner walls and door of the box are to be covered with thermocol which is
non-conductor of heat. Long jute fibres are thrust into the small holes of the floor from
outside the box. The box is to be placed on the metal tray full of cold water. Long jute
fibres will remain dipped in water. Through the hole of the roof a long cylinder,
which should also be a non-conductor of heat , is entered and it is fixed with the
roof. The joining of the roof and cylinder should be air tight. Now the burning point
of the kerosine lamp is entered through the
middle portion of the cylinder and make it air tight. Now the project is ready to work.
At first the kerosine lamp is se t on fire . Due to burning of the lamp the air inside
the cylinder becomes hot and lighter and comes out of the cylinder through the open
mouth. As a result, there creates a vacuum in the lower portion of the cylinder. To fill
this vacuum relatively cold air full of moisture will come through the wet jute fibres
.Due to the evaporation from the upper surface of the water kept
in the tray, the latent heat of evaporation is taken out from the
rest of the water in the tray and as a result the air inside the box
becomes a little bit cool than it was before. This process will
continue and temperature of the inner side of the box will fall
gradually. For efficient functioning of the project , the box
should be so prepared that there is no other way to enter air
inside the box except through Jute fibres kept in the lower
portion of the box.
NON-CONVENTIONAL SOLAR ENERGY
We are in the age of scarcity of conventional energy Source . Comprehensive and
pollution free use of non-conventional energy can save us from this crisis. In this
backdrop the use of Solar Energy is the best policy.
Annually we get 250 – 300 sunny days in India which offers 5000 Trillion KWh
energy most of which got unused. As of now we use SPVC for exploitation of Solar
Energy but it is much expensive. Ours is an ideal model to harness solar rays.
Here we use Sun rays to create convection of air from which we get electricity through
turbine or can store potential energy in spring by winding it through turbine. We can lift
water into roof tank by this Solar-borne electricity and therefrom we may have
electricity at night by falling water into a turbine. We have used Electronic-Waste to
get electricity directly from Sun rays. By concentrating Solar rays compressed vapour
is created by which we may cook food or generate electricity. ' National Solar Mission'
vows to get 1000 MW electricity from Solar Energy by 2013. The most lofty 'Thor
Desert Project' aims to extract Solar Energy from 35000 Sq.km. of area .'Ministry of
Renewable Resource ' is eager to make all mobile towers in
India to go solar.
To materialize the Schemes galore we hope our model must
be a suitable one.
subdivision.
·Total annual requirement of drinking water for the students has also been calculated.
·For the storage of rainwater storage tank is installed.
·From the storage tank rainwater is piped to Filter unit and finally to the drinking water
tank.
·Tank capacity designed for the dry period – Area of roof of school – 500 Sq. Mt.
Volume of rainfall (in liters) on the roof. - 500 Sq Mt. x 1.7 Cu.Mt ( I,e height of
average annual rainfall of kalna sub-division)
·8,50,000 liters Volume of effectively harvested rainwater (Assuming 60% of the total
rainfall is effectively harvested) - 5, 10,000 liters.
Assuming approx requirement of water per student during school time is average
1 liter per day. So daily requirement of driking water in the school is 700 liter.
Average school days in the school per year are 200 days and
ACCIDENT PREVENTER OF UNGAURED
RAILWAY LEVEL CROSSING.
Now a days it is a recurring problem of Indian Railway to prevent accident on the
way of unmanned level crossing.
An easy method has been applied in this Model to make alert the passers by or any
driver of vehicle when they will cross over the unmanned Level crossing.
A mini electrical generator has been established to generate electrical power by the
mechanical movement of rail when the train will run over the rail line, because of low
amplitude of linear movement of the line will convert a rotary motion of a large gear. A
small gear is coupled through a chain with the large gear for developing rotary speed. A
rotary magnetic field which is formed by two poles of North and South directly
coupled with the shaft of small gear. Two induction coils are existing at 1800 angle
within the magnetic field.
When the rotary magnetic field will gain a rotary motion within the Induction coils,
then an induced voltage will be developed
at the end of the connected circuit of those
coils according to the law of Flemings
