Topic: “Documentation, Discipline and Discharge”<br />

Among the most frequently litigated workplace disputes are those which arise out of disciplinary<br />

actions and employee termination. This session will provide you with the knowledge and tools to<br />

properly document employee performance, use positive and negative feedback to keep employees on<br />

track, deal swiftly and fairly with problem employees and handle a termination.<br />

* Join us for our regular OECEDC monthly meetings held on the last Wednesday of each<br />

month, 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., at the Employment Department, 846 SE Pine St. in<br />

Roseburg. Meetings include guest speakers on employment related topics for <strong>employer</strong>s,<br />

networking, and Labor Market and Workforce Investment Board reports.<br />

What is OECDC?<br />

OECDC is made up of volunteer <strong>employer</strong> representatives who serve as advisors to the<br />

WorkSource Oregon Employment Department. <strong>The</strong>re are 21 active <strong>employer</strong> <strong>council</strong>s<br />

throughout Oregon; operating independently to identify and assist with the needs of <strong>employer</strong>s<br />

in their communities. <strong>The</strong>re are no membership dues.<br />

Locally we assist our <strong>employer</strong>s by providing high quality low cost seminars; networking; at least<br />

$2400 in scholarships at UCC; and $1500 per year in support dollars to local Veterans. Also,<br />

OECDC puts on a large Employer Expo/Job Fair every spring including time for high school<br />

students, since they are the workforce of the future.<br />

Employers in good standing (attending at least 4 monthly meetings per year) receive discounts<br />

on OECDC seminars, participate in our scholarship program, and have access to various<br />

resources, training videos and publications.<br />

Partnering with the Roseburg Area Chamber of Commerce, OECDC continues to be a<br />

community leader in improving the quality of employment and the workforce within Douglas<br />

County.<br />
