He performs such procedures as laparoscopy (surgery performed through small incisions with the aid of a telescope, and with or without robotic-assistance), endoscopy (a procedure using a telescope that is moved into the lumen of the urinary tract), and percutaneous routes ( a procedure conducted through a single small incision with the use of a non-visualizing “needle”). Dr. Wolf treats such common diseases as stones, obstructions, and various other noncancerous problems of the kidney and ureter, as well as cancers involving the kidney (kidney cancer) and the lining of the kidney and ureter (urothelial cancer). Dr. Wolf pioneered many of the treatments for kidney cancer in the state of michigan; he performed, for instance, the first laparoscopic radical nephrectomy and the first laparoscopic partial nephrectomy. Dr. Day has also trained a large number medical students, graduate students, urology residents and fellows who continue to pursue research careers in Urology and GU oncology.
