Academon
Academon is an autonomous enterprise, owned jointly by the Student Union (agudat
hastudentim) and the University. It provides professional study materials, services and
merchandise to suit the specific needs of students. It operates its own press, and publishes
study pamphlets, lecture notes, and bibliographic material edited by University teachers and
books, and it offers a wide range of printing and publishing services.
Academon runs on-campus bookstores which carry a wide selection of professional and
general books, textbooks, and reference works in Hebrew, English and other languages, at
discount prices. University yearbooks and Magnes Press publications can be purchased at all
Academon bookstores. Academon has a computerized search and ordering system for
publications from Britain, the U.S., and other countries.
Academon requests advance notice of any texts or books to be purchased for students.
New faculty members are asked to submit their reading lists either to Academon or to their
departmental secretary.
Academon general stores (kol-bo) carry a wide range of stationery supplies, toiletries,
cassettes and CDs, toys and games, general and household supplies, sportswear, etc. The
new Academon Jewelry Store on Mt. Scopus is located in the lower forum next to the exit to
the buses. The store carries a wide range of gold and silver jewelry as well as fashion
accessories.
On the Mount Scopus campus, the Academon bookstore is located adjacent to the
Bloomfield Building and the Forum, in the Leona and Oscar Pattiz Family Building, Tel.:
5882161/2; Fax: 5882481. The kol-bo store is located in the Rosenbloom Law Faculty
Building, Tel.: 5882377.

On Givat Ram, the Academon bookstore and kol bo are located in the Sherman
Administration Building, near the main pedestrian entrance to the campus, Tel.: 6584829,

On the Ein Kerem campus, the Academon bookstore and kol-bo are located in the Medical
School’s Forchheimer Building (Floor - 2) , Tel.: 6758492.

Photocopying Services
Photocopying facilities on the Mount Scopus and Givat Ram campuses are provided by
Academon, the Central Libraries, and the Student Union, and at Ein Kerem by the National
Medical Library. In addition, many departments have their own arrangements for
photocopying, most involving self-service machines for which you must purchase a magnetic
card or make cash payment to an attendant.

Academon Photocopying Services (sherutei tsilum): Opposite Academon store (Law Faculty
Bldg.), Tel. 5882379. Hours of service (in office): S-Th 9:00-16:45.
Self-service machines in the Forum and other locations on campus, operated by magnetic
cards, can be purchased from sherutei tsilum and Galshan-Shvakim (which offers both
photocopy and fax services).
Frank Sinatra Student Center: Student Union photocopying services at discount prices for
students only. Available also on Givat Ram campus.
Central Libraries Photocopying Services: Operator-assisted services (payment by cash) or
self-service machines operated by magnetic cards are available in libraries indicated. For
work to be charged to a departmental budget or grant account, purchase coupons in advance
from your departmental secretary.
