Tummo: Inner fire of Realization
Saturday and Sunday, November 14-15, 2009, 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Location: 830 Bancroft (at the corner of Sixth), Berkeley, CA
This is the last of four weekend teachings on the practice of tummo, the
inner heat that burns subtle obscurations and cultivates the bliss of
realization. In these teachings Geshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche will present
a successive series of practices working with prayer, meditation, mantra,
visualization and the potent body movements of the tsa lung to help students
deepen the practice. It is his sincere wish that through these teachings
students find their own door to a life that is more physically healthy,
energetically vital and spiritually fulfilling.
In these weekends Tenzin Rinpoche will teach from his soon-to-bepublished
book on integrating spiritual practice through the three doors of
body, speech and mind, as well as from the text Spontaneous Arising of the
Three Kayas by Shardza Tashi Gyaltsen Rinpoche, a great Bön master who
achieved the body of light, or rainbow body, in 1934.
For 17 years Tenzin Rinpoche has presented the dzogchen teachings of the
Bön Buddhist tradition in the West. His teachings and commentaries convey
a fundamental understanding of spiritual practice in the context of modern
Western life. His ability to make these once-hidden teachings accessible,
while maintaining the purity of their transmission, has allowed his students
to move beyond conceptual understanding and bring authentic dzogchen
experience into their conventional lives.
It is not necessary to have attended the first three teachings in order to attend
this one. New students are welcome to join but should contact Laura
Shekerjian (see below) to receive previous practice materials.
Cost: If received by October 15: $145, $115 students and low income
After October 15 or at the door: $180, $145 students and low income.
