Starting <strong>April</strong> 5th, 8:00-9:00pm: Weekly series of Dzogchen Dharma Lectures by Kunchok Lama. Open to the<br />

Ven. Jian Hu, Abbott of Chung Tai Zen <strong>Center</strong> of Sunnyvale, will lecture on Pure Mind, Pure L<strong>and</strong>: A New<br />
Lifestyle for World Harmony, Saturday, May 1, <strong>2010</strong>, 2:00 – 4:30pm at CSN Charleston Campus, 6375 W.<br />
Charleston Blvd., Bldg. B, Room 205. He will also conduct a half-day meditation retreat on Sunday, May 2nd.<br />

Beginning Buddhism<br />
classes will resume on <strong>April</strong> 5th from 7:00pm – 8:00pm. taught by Vice-Abbott Tyson Kern. Series of introductory<br />
topics on Buddhism. No experience necessary. Classes will run weekly on Mondays. Free. Open to the Public.<br />
Donations accepted.<br />
The Chung Tai Zen Meditation Group<br />
will be cancelled on <strong>April</strong> 4th due to participation in a week long meditation retreat. Classes will resume on Sunday,<br />
<strong>April</strong> 11th from 11:00am to 1:00pm.<br />
The Foundations of Buddhism class on Sundays at 3:30 has been cancelled (lectures will be given by Kunchok<br />
Lama on Monday nights, see above.) However, Buddapath Practice (Dzogchen) is still ongoing on Sundays from<br />
1:30 – 3:30pm.<br />

- Fridays 6:00 – 7:00pm, Taoism Course (Quigong, Meditation <strong>and</strong> Herbs .) – Sifu JC
Priest Hours:<br />
The <strong>Lohan</strong> priests have begun keeping hours in the Temple <strong>and</strong> are available for spiritual counseling, dharma<br />
questions or just to have a cup of tea. The current schedule is as follows:<br />
Greg Pergament : Tues. 4:00 – 5:00pm <strong>and</strong> Thurs. 4:00 – 5:00pm. Also, by appointment. Cell: 525-6490. Kathy<br />
Hassett: Thurs. 5:30 – 7:30pm. Also, by appointment. Cell: 813-4123. Tyson Kern: Mon. 3:00 – 6:00pm. (Also,<br />

A Note from the Vice-Abbott,<br />
On March 3rd, <strong>2010</strong>, the membership conducted their Annual Meeting <strong>and</strong> held Elections. I would like to<br />
congratulate the members of the first elected Board of the <strong>Lohan</strong> <strong>Spiritual</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Cultural</strong> <strong>Center</strong>: President: JC,<br />
Vice-:President: Ocean Libby, Treasurer: Kim Shaw, Secretary: Jennifer – Grossi, <strong>and</strong> Member at Large: Tony<br />
Humphreys. I would also like to thank the membership for your continued participation <strong>and</strong> support, without which,<br />
none of this would have been possible. Special thanks go to our outgoing Secretary, Kathy Hassett, for her hard<br />
work on the elections. And a sincere thank you to Sifu JC Cox for continuing on for another year as President. I<br />
would also like to send out a special thanks to Don Wireman. He has been the temple coordinator for over a year<br />
now, <strong>and</strong> I feel like he has been an integral part of the success of the positive changes we have tried to make. Well<br />
done <strong>Lohan</strong>s!<br />
