The brochure “Safe on the way“ was made on the topic child restra<strong>in</strong>t systems <strong>in</strong> cars <strong>in</strong> <strong>2008</strong> and<br />

gives advice about various systems, buy<strong>in</strong>g and legal issues.<br />

“Safe on the way <strong>in</strong> cars – us<strong>in</strong>g child restra<strong>in</strong>t systems correctly” is the new brochure (<strong>2009</strong>) deal<strong>in</strong>g<br />

with the correct handl<strong>in</strong>g of child restra<strong>in</strong>t systems <strong>in</strong> cars and serves as a guidel<strong>in</strong>e for parents.<br />

Additionally the brochure <strong>in</strong>forms about legal issues and posters alongside motorways are <strong>in</strong>stalled<br />

for creat<strong>in</strong>g awareness.<br />

„Mach dich sichtbar!“ (Make yourself visible!)<br />

The purpose of this campaign held <strong>in</strong> <strong>2008</strong> was for pupils from 1st to 4th grade to get<br />

reflect<strong>in</strong>g materials; educational material was also made available.<br />

„KISI“: <strong>Road</strong> safety projects for kids aged 5-15<br />

FGM, Prov<strong>in</strong>ce of Styria<br />

Good ideas, new approaches and traffic educational know-how for practical application <strong>in</strong> communities<br />

are topics <strong>in</strong> the road safety catalogue for kids for <strong>2008</strong>. “Strong kids – safe kids” and “Mobile and<br />

safe” are two of the categories relevant for community representatives work<strong>in</strong>g on <strong>in</strong>novative and<br />

active road safety.<br />

“Clever kids“ is a new educational platform on the <strong>in</strong>ternet for kids at elementary<br />

school. It was created <strong>in</strong> <strong>2009</strong> <strong>in</strong> co-operation between kids, parents and teachers. The<br />

platform is lively and gives <strong>in</strong>centives for learn<strong>in</strong>g and play<strong>in</strong>g. An onl<strong>in</strong>e way to school<br />

tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g tool and various traffic education games are offered.<br />

Cycle light<strong>in</strong>g<br />

In April <strong>2008</strong>, on various locations <strong>in</strong> the city of Salzburg, the police was po<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g out the importance<br />

of the correct equipment of bicycles – especially regard<strong>in</strong>g the light<strong>in</strong>g. The condition of bicycles was<br />

checked by associates of the <strong>Austria</strong>n <strong>Road</strong> <strong>Safety</strong> Board.<br />
