IMK: Institut für Medienkommunikation
Die Konvergenz von modernen Technologien
wie digitales TV, PC mit Internet
und Telefonie formt den Schlüssel für die
Entwicklung der neuen Medien. Sie werden
sich künftig noch stärker an den
Bedürfnissen des Menschen nach Mobilität,
Interaktion und Individualität orientieren
und die Informationsgesellschaft
entscheidend mit prägen. Ziel des Instituts
ist es, Einsatzrahmen und Möglichkeiten
der neuen Medien zu erweitern,
ihr kreatives und soziales Potenzial zu
erforschen, innovative Lösungen und
Prototypen zu entwickeln sowie neue
Anwendungsfelder zu erschließen. Verteilte
interaktive Media Processing
Systeme sollen neuartige kreative Visualisierungen
ermöglichen und neue Medienanwendungen
wirtschaftlich machen.
IMK: Institute for Media Communication
The convergence of modern technologies
such as digital TV, PCs, Internet, and
telephony is the key to the development
of new media. In the future they will be
based more strongly on people's needs
for mobility, interaction, and individualism
and will play a strong role in shaping
the information society. The purpose of
the institute is to expand the applications
and use of the new media, to study their
creative and social potentials, to develop
innovative solutions and prototypes, as
well as to explore new areas of application.
Distributed interactive media processing
systems are intended to alllow
creative new visualizations and to make
new media applications more cost-effective.
