Hungary is giving its first steps
in CNG
Entrepreneurs and journalists took part in a meeting in which Aspro’s
wide range of products and new technologies were presented
The Check Republic’s new authorities are
fostering the use of this energy due to its
lower environmental impact and greater
effectiveness. The MGKKE, the Hungarian
NGV association, is the top institution for its
promotion. The Czech government, in December
2011, introduced the “Green Investment Plan”, initiative
that grants funds for the buses’ conversion
and for the CNG refueling stations’ construction,
with the purpose of reducing contaminant emissions
and air pollution.

Taking into account the interest shown by those
Hungarian entrepreneurs who are taking their first
steps in the CNG market, an informative meeting
was held to analyze the current market.
In this context, over 30 potential clients and journalists
were able to learn about Aspro’s new developments
for stations that supply high-capacity
vehicles. The meeting included a visit to a model
station, equipped with Aspro technology, from the
EON Company, one of the world’s largest energy
enterprises to supply buses and automobiles.

held in the city of Lima. Over 70 people, among

Emiliano Barbero, Commercial Manager in Latin
America, will present an overview of Aspro’s
businesses all over the world and the company’s
latest developments. José Tamariz, Machine
and Technology Director, will show an outline of
Aspro’s position in Peru and of the new alterna-

Under the leadership shown in the CNG markets
in Latin America, Peru has grown significantly over
the last years owing to its number of converted
vehicles. Giving impetus to more investments in
the new gas pipelines, the CNG development is

t present, there are more than 700,000
CNG cars in the country, maintaining its
leading position in CNG vehicle conversion
all over the European market due
to state incentives granted over the last years.
According to official reports published at the “Observaterio
Metanauto” entity, the regions where
the number of CNG cars has grown the most are
the center and the north, such as Veneto, Toscana,
Marche and Lombardy.
Aspro has currently sold over 100 compression systems
throughout the country. From our branch, located
in Modena, we provide technical assistance,

New development for the Italian market
We have recently launched Aspro Compact, a unit
equipment integrally designed by our engineers.
This new development premise is simplifying the
setup, reducing necessary times and investment,
and economizing space at service stations. Therefore,
its capacity can be expanded thanks to its
modular form, with no civil work of any kind.

market situation?
There is a reactivation,
with new projects for different
clients all over the country. Each entrepreneur
I am in touch with agrees that the opening
of the industrial plant and the commercial office
is a heavy bet on the local and regional market,
and they are ready to help us out. From our offices,
we provide technical assistance that is
thought to be really good, since the technicians
that visit the stations put a lot of emphasis on
the security standards compliance. This makes
them feel relaxed and so they rely on the service
we provide.

he American market is in full growth
and has already started its campaign
for the use of less contaminant and
economical vehicle fuels. Initially, buses
and state and privately owned refueling trucks
are the major users and are mostly supplied in
captive refueling stations.
In this mission, each state promotes the development
of clean fuels independently and, through
economic incentives, the conversion and construction
of refueling posts.

In this context, CNG is the suitable fuel to cover
this need due to its fast implementation and
proved experience in over 20,000 CNG worldwide

The North American Market
In an effort to reduce North America’s depen-
dence on foreign oil as well as greenhouse gas-
es emissions, the Federal Government, state
and even regional and local Governments have
put into practice incentives to promote the pur-
chase and use of natural gas vehicles. These
include tax deductions or credits, decreasing
licensing fees and car sales tax, among others.
In April 2011, NATGAS was passed, a law bill
which contains regulations to foster CNG devel-
opment as a new vehicle-fuel alternative. The
highlights in the Act are:
• A five-year fiscal expansion for the refueling
stations’ setup and the purchase of natural
gas vehicles
• Fostering the purchase and use of natural gas
vehicles
• Promoting natural gas vehicle expansion toward
public transport
• Motivating automotive industry to manufacture
CNG vehicles
• Helping Indian Nations also reach fiscal credits
The opening of this new branch in the United
States, shows a step towards our world consolidation
as one of the leaders in the CNG market.
Our international growth plan started with the
openings of the plants in Argentina and Brazil, to
continue with the commercial offices in Holland
and Italy and, more recently, an industrial plant in
China, from where the compression systems are
put together in order to supply the local demand
of that country.
In the United States, there are, to date, over 100,000
converted vehicles going around that are supplied
by 1,100 public and private refueling stations. In
Aspro, we are prepared to go along this development
by means of effective solutions that guarantee

delegation from the Science and Technology
Ministry of Thailand visited our
facilities where they saw the manufacturing
and testing processes of our
CNG compression systems. The visit was headed
by Dr. Virachai Virameteekul, Science and Technology
Minister, whose first goal is to support Aspro’s
compression systems insertion in the Thai market.
This Ministry, together with its agencies, has
a wide range of financing alternatives geared towards
supporting innovative projects, technological
undertakings and not only infrastructure but
also equipment modernization.
The Thai CNG market is one of the most promising
ones in Asia. At present, there are more than
173,000 converted vehicles, number that is expected
to grow in the coming years, as part of

the CNG stations’ network of the PTT official Oil
Company. To date, there are over 100 Aspro units
running in the country. Most of them are variable
compressors that put the functions of a traditional
Booster compressor with the ones of a gas compressor
together in only one product. Its strength
is allowing gas inlet with variable pressures that go
from 250 bar to 14 bar and include a priority panel
to optimize energy consumption, thus maximizing
efficiency in operating costs.
Together with our local representative, Siriseang
Co. Ltd, we provide commercial assessment,
technical assistance and original spare parts all
over the country. Positioned as a reliable trademark
of stable local leadership, Aspro is going far
toward their market growth with high quality products

NN, part of Xinao group, one of the top
energy distributing companies in the
country, continues trusting Aspro so as to
equip their stations. To date, from Aspro`s
branch in Beijing, we have been working together
with ENN team in order to find CNG new solutions.
At present, they have acquired 15 Aspro compression
systems and we have recently provided them
with our technology at a mother station in the city of
Langfang, equipped with two line HF 75 model high
flow compressors and an IODM 115 model which will
have a daily volume sale of 300,000 Sm³.
Mother stations are used for CNG high-volume refueling
in mobile storage units, allowing CNG transport
to areas where there’s no access to gas pipelines.
The supplied stations are “daughter stations”,
industries or gas distribution systems for cities.
The HF 75 line compressors, used at this large station,
are especially designed to fulfill the needs of
refueling posts that require a high flow of gas compression
per hour, with an input pressure range of
between 0 and 60 bar.

as to give impetus to the CNG development.
The CNG market in China advances fast, hand in
hand with the completion of two gas pipelines that
go from the western to the eastern part, and two
new projects that will reach the north of the country
which are underway. From the Government,
important incentive policies are being promoted
for the development of this fuel and, within this
context, 300 new stations will be built in 5 years’
time, which will be added to the 2,500 that are currently
running in the whole country.

of its CNG conversion program

three compression systems that will be
set up at CNG refueling stations situated
in the districts of La Paz, Cochabamba and
Santa Cruz.
Each of the stations will be equipped with a line
IODM 115 model, pumps, storage, and high end
panel board. Cars and buses will be mainly supplied.

Statistics from the Hydrocarbon Ministry show
that, in 2011, 16,000 public transport vehicles were
converted to natural gas all over the country. Other
34,000 cars are expected to be converted to natural
gas in 2012, as part of a national energy plan to
reduce diesel fuel imports. The government estimates
a total conversion of the national public fleet
for 2015.
Aspro, present in Bolivia since 2000, is on a fast

W
e have taken the first step for the
development of new businesses in
South Africa. Novo Energy, one of the
companies with the highest potential
in the alternative fuel development in the country,
offering a wide variety of energy solutions, acquired
a line IODM 115 model compression system.
This equipment will be set up at a refueling post
located in the city of Johannesburg, from where
private vehicles and cars will be mainly supplied.
CNG projections in this country are very promising.
The Southafrican Energy Investigation Institute
(SANERI), from its Southafrican Green Transport
program, has been promoting the energy matrix
change. In turn, from the government, a series of
projects are being supported whose goal is to introduce
alternative fuels, such as compressed natural
gas to help reduce air pollution at acceptable
levels, that is the reason why the Institute also supports
its production and use.
With its incorporation in this market, Aspro is already
present in 39 countries. At the same time,
we are actively working in over 50 new markets
so as to develop CNG as the best alternative in
vehicle fuels.

American Association, there are about 5 million

and Brazil, 56 % of refueling posts are currently

NGV Mexico 2012
The 13th biennial event edition of the International
Association of Natural Gas Vehicles (Global
NGV) will be held in Mexico city from November
8 to 10, 2012. The event is organized under the
motto “Natural Gas Vehicle, promoting savings

and ecology”. It will be one of the main events
for the local and regional CNG industry. Over the
last years, Mexico has proved to be one of the
most promising markets in terms of CNG in Latin
America. Their government support is so strong
that Mexico State is converting a great part of its
fleet to CNG.
In turn, its influence on the rest of the Latin American
market is being strengthened by its geographical
nearness and the close relation with the United
States, that is heavily betting on the development
of this fuel for vehicle use and where we have
recently inaugurated a commercial office for the
development of new businesses and to provide our
clients with support.
