The Berliner Philharmoniker and sony continue
their decades-long partnership – a symbol of the
development of music and media
Art and commerce – two things which often don’t mix well.
The interests, goals and sensitivities of artists and businesses
are too diverse. The Berliner Philharmoniker, however, have
the fortunate knack of finding supporters who have a deep
understanding of their musical work; Deutsche Bank, for
example, which has been a partner of the Berliner
Philharmoniker for over 20 years. At the IFA in Berlin this
summer, a further partnership was sealed and announced:
Sony will support the orchestra in the development and
marketing of its video platform, the Digital Concert Hall.
Thus, a partnership is resumed and continued which not only
goes back decades, but is also a symbol which reflects the
development of music and media.
