LOOKING FOR A COMPACT, VERSATILE 96KHZ STEREO CONVERSION
SOLUTION? You’re looking for the PSX-100 – now with singlewire
88.2/96kHz AES/EBU. It’s a complete two-channel conversion
system in a compact single-unit box. Resembling a
miniature version of the AD-8000, including the new UV22HR
and SoftLimit, but with 88.2 and 96kHz sampling and with all
its interfaces built in, the PSX-100 contains separate A/D and
D/A sections, each with their own clocks, which can be crossconnected
in a number of different ways – or not at all – you
can even run them at different sample rates. Copy a digital
input to all the outputs including D/A; monitor the output of
the A/D using the D/A, while outputting
all digital formats; or use them
separately – it’s your choice.
The PSX-100 includes all the industry-
DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR THE PROJECT STUDIO, Apogee’s
Rosetta AD 2-channel A/D converter offers superlative
performance at an affordable price. Two models are available,
one offering 44.1/48 kHz sampling, and the other with the full
range from 44.1 to 96kHz. And you can upgrade from one to
the other as your needs grow. The Rosetta provides the new
UV22HR, and the 44.1–96 kHz model includes single-wire
AES and S/PDIF at 88.2/96 kHz, plus ABS-96 to record
24/88.2–96kHz signals on regular MDMs.
PSX-100
2-channel 24-bit, 44.1–96 kHz A/D-D/A
standard interfaces: multiple AES/EBU, S/PDIF (coax/optical),
TDIF (Tascam) and ADAT. There is an auxiliary AES output
that always delivers high-resolution audio even if the other
outputs are being reduced to 16 or 20 bits with UV22HR,
making it possible, for example, to master 24-bits to a 24-bit
DAT machine while making simultaneous 16-bit copies.
Apogee Bit Splitting is taken a stage further in the PSX-
100. In addition to the 4/24 (PaqRat-compatible) mode (two
16-bit tracks record a single 24-bit channel), ABS-96 allows
you to record (and replay) two channels of 24/96 audio on
eight tracks of a standard MDM. So if you were wondering
how to store your high-density recordings, the answer is
already in your studio: it’s your existing MDM.
There’s nowhere you’ll find better quality, convenience
or capability than in the Apogee PSX-100.
Rosetta AD
2-channel 24-bit, 44.1/48 kHz (44.1–96 kHz optional) A/D
The most widely-used interfaces are built into the Rosetta:
AES, S/PDIF, TDIF (Tascam) and optical (S/PDIF or ADAT format).
Large bar-graph meters give you accurate level indication,
while oversize “over” LEDs (user defined threshold) let
you keep an eye on your levels, which can be kept under control
with Apogee’s proprietary SoftLimit feature. UV22HR,
meanwhile, allows you to output 16 or 20 bits without losing
detail. The Rosetta AD is an ideal front-end to your DAT
machine, MDM, DAW, computer system or video editor.

to Yamaha digital systems equipped with YGDAI (Yamaha
General Digital Audio Interface) card slots .
The cards consist of a “Mini-Y” card with a removable
extender card allowing the card to be installed in a full-size
YGDAI or a “Mini-Y” system. The cards offer full 24-bit
conversion and can operate at up to 96 kHz sample rate.
The A/D converter card includes Apogee’s proprietary Soft
Limit® system to deliver maximum digital level without

Apogee Master ADAT tape sets the standard for durability
and reliability. Optimized for audio applications, Apogee
Master ADAT is approved by Alesis for use on all ADAT
recorders including the latest high resolution models. Low
error rates and a durable binder and formulation make the
tape ideal for shuttling and editing, while the anti-static shell
minimizes dust and debris attraction, reducing errors and
dropouts.
Both ADAT and DAT tapes are supplied in attractive packaging
with a large writing area and APRS/SPARS label sets.
The ADAT tape includes a self-adhesive track sheet, while the
10-pack box of DAT tape is supplied in the unique Producer
