MGM LP's
While I am not listing them in this section (they are special, but surely not audiophile!), this catalog includes a
substantial number of early-pressing MGM LP's. Since they are primarily of interest for the off-the-beaten-path
works they included, most are listed in the Orchestral & Instrumental Repertiore section. But I shall provide
references to the listing numbers below for those who might be interested since most of these are indeed an
unusual group and most are in the original pressings with original cover art. In later years, many were reissued
with plain blue text covers - and rather better pressings, to be candid! - but the originals have a cachet of their
own for the jackets & history. Even late in the series, records were sometimes issued factory-sealed but without
inner sleeves, so most of the best copies one finds grade no better than B+ from a little added surface sound (a
grade of A- means a very fine copy). Here's where you will find them in this catalog: #802, 807, 812, 819-20,
825, 835, 838, 844, 848, 876, 888, 903, 910-12, 922-23, 926, 954, 998, 1121, 1130, 1162, 1271-72, 1481 &
1647.
