from 430 vehicles registered<br />
in 1997 to 1,532 registered<br />

Dressed in blue and<br />
yellow, the 20+ members<br />
of our Ambassador<br />
team set out six days a<br />
week to greet you with<br />
a hello, help you find a<br />
certain business, hand<br />
out tourist information,<br />
work with ICBC in their<br />
“Lock Out Auto Crime”<br />
program, report graffiti<br />
and unwanted signage,<br />
assist at community<br />
events, conduct our<br />
Heritage Walking Tours<br />
and just generally<br />
make our downtown<br />
extremely hospitable<br />
and friendly. Expecting<br />
nothing in return except<br />
a smile, these dedicated<br />
individuals can be seen<br />
just about everywhere,<br />
helping out wherever they<br />
can and making people<br />
feel welcome. Next time<br />
you’re downtown, feel<br />
free to approach them.<br />
