DE SCRIP TION
MVS-410 is an easy to use ep oxy resin sys tem with three hard en ers avail able which pro vide dif fer ent work ing times for a va ri ety of uses in fab ri -
cat ing or re pair ing var i ous sizes of struc tures. These three sys tems have very low mixed vis cos i ties, so they will quickly wet out re in forc ing fab -
rics when lam i nat ing, for more rapid fab ri ca tion. It is easy to add bulk fill ers or re in force ments to these sys tems for spe cial pur pose uses. They
will also pen e trate wood sur faces quite well, and pro vide a much stron ger and rot-re sis tant sur face than the bare wood.
The MVS-410 resin is spe cially for mu lated to pro vide ex cel lent mois ture re sis tance, mak ing it ideal for the con struc tion or re pair of boat hulls
and other ma rine items. The cured MVS ma te ri als have very high heat re sis tance ca pa bil i ties. Heat re sis tance is an im por tant fac tor in de ter -
min ing the long term sta bil ity of ep oxy sys tems, there fore MVS-410's higher heat ca pa bil ity will pro vide a lon ger ser vice life and a more sta ble
part or re pair.
The MVS prod ucts are a highly en gi neered group of ma te ri als that have been de vel oped to pro vide sta ble, high per for mance struc tures or re -
pairs. They are the ideal ma te ri als for dif fi cult, prob lem-prone ap pli ca tions and they eas ily out-per form lower qual ity, gen eral-pur pose
ma te ri als - for the same money or less!
HAN DLING and CUR ING
The three hard en ers listed here will all cure com pletely at room tem per a ture, and no ad di tional heat is re quired for full prop er ties to de velop.
All three pro vide a du ra ble clean cured sur face with no sur face blush or sticky res i due. As stated, with three dif fer ent work ing times avail able,
you can choose the sys tem that fits the size pro ject you are un der tak ing. Through-cure and time-to-sand will vary with each hard ener, due to
their vary ing gel times. Gen er ally, time-to-sand for each hard ener will be: 3 - 4 hours for MVS-462 Fast Hard ener, 6 - 7 hours for MVS-464
Medium Hard ener and 8 - 9 hours for MVS-468 Slow Hard ener. All three sys tems cure hard over night and will reach full prop er ties in 2 - 3 days
at nor mal am bi ent tem per a tures. These cure times and con di tions were de vel oped at an am bi ent shop tem per a ture of 72 oF - 75 oF. Warmer
tem per a tures will shorten these times some what, and cooler con di tions will lengthen the times.
SAFETY and HAN DLING
PTM&W ep oxy prod ucts are made from raw ma te ri als care fully cho sen to min i mize or even elim i nate toxic chem i cals, and there fore of fer the user high per for mance prod ucts with min i mum haz ard po ten tial when prop erly used. Gen er -
ally, the PTM&W ep oxy res ins and hard en ers will pres ent no han dling prob lems if us ers ex er cise care to pro tect the skin and eyes, and if good ven ti la tion is pro vided in the work ar eas. How ever, all ep oxy res ins and hard en ers can be ir ri -
tat ing to the skin, and pro longed con tact may re sult in sen si ti za tion; and breath ing of mist or va pors may cause al ler genic re spi ra tory re ac tion, es pe cially in highly sen si tive in di vid u als. As such, avoid con tact with eyes and skin, and
avoid breath ing va pors. Wear pro tec tive rub ber apron, cloth ing, gloves, face shield or other items as re quired to pre vent con tact with the skin. In case of skin con tact, im me di ately wash with soap and wa ter, fol lowed by a rinse of the
area with vin e gar, and then a fur ther wash with soap and wa ter. The vin e gar will neu tral ize the hard ener and lessen the chances of long term ef fects. Use gog gles, a face shield, safety glasses or other items as re quired to pre vent con -
tact with the eyes. If ma te rial gets into the eyes, im me di ately flush with wa ter for at least 15 min utes and call a phy si cian. Gen er ally, keep the work area as un clut tered and clean as pos si ble, and clean up any mi nor spills im me di ately
to pre vent ac ci den tal skin con tact at a later time. Keep tools clean and prop erly stored. Dis pose of trash and empty con tain ers prop erly. Do not use any of these types of prod ucts un til Ma te rial Safety Data Sheets have been read and un -
