When Mafi opened its new warehouse
and office in Oslo it
was an immidiate success.
Many customers and other
interested came to see for
themselfes that business really
was up and running.
— This is very handy, says
Radomir Hoferek, Site Project
Manager at Netel.
Radomir Hoferek visited Mafi together
with Jan Soukup, also from
Netel. They were both very happy
with Mafi establishing itself in Norway.
— We are very satisfied with Mafi
so far, continues Radomir Hoferek.
We have a good cooperation with
everyone we are in contact with
within Mafi. We get fast answers and
deliveries work as scheduled.
— Now, with warehouse and
competent personel in Oslo, Mafi´s

leadtimes will be shorter. Or, if we

The right solution at the right time
Right solutions. Right time. Right place. At the right price.
Sometimes all the bits and pieces falls into place.
Thomas Henriksen, project Manager at Site Service in Norway,
received his first deliveries shortly after the first meeting with
Mafi.
Thomas Henriksen's days are busy. As project Manager at Site Service AS,
with HQ located in Oslo, Norway, he's in charge of the rollout of Nödnett
(Emergency net) phase 1.
Nödnett is a closed network that is being built nationwide in Norway, to be
used by the police and other authorities.
Nödnett isn't the only ongoing project on Site Service's to do-list. They
work together with, amongst others, Ericsson; current assignment is updating
old infrastructure. Another assignment is administration and maintenance
for several norweigan telecom operators. Site Service also performed
site acquisition for Nödnett's phases 1, 2 and 3.
- We are currently setting up Nödnett in an area north of Oslo and to the
east towards Sweden, he says pointing out the areas out on a map of Norway.
We try to fit as much of Nödnett's gear into existing masts and towers
as possible.
Both equipment and performance has to hold the highest standards.
- Apart from enduring extreme wind and weather conditions, our clients
also want our solutions to be as esthetically pleasing as possible.
Until recently, Site Service bought antenna mounts from three different
suppliers.
- We consider it a strength to have several suppliers, as it makes it easier
for us to adjust to our clients needs and specifications. You would think three
suppliers could have been enough, but having seen what Mafi can offer, we
felt we wanted to involve them as well.
Thomas Henriksen's first contact with Mafi came this May, through the
Nödnett project.
-I received scetches from Motorola, the main supplier for Nödnett, with
alternative solutions, and immediately realized that they would be very suitable
for the project. I saw that they came from Mafi, so I contacted Andreas
Persson here in Oslo.

is finished. Phase
1 is currently in progress.
The network shall be up and
running in 2015.
Motorola Solutions is the
main supplier. Main subcontractor
Austrian Frequentis.
Among the Norweigian
contractors are Ventelo,
Relacom, Telenor, Technogarden

The meeting exceeded
my expectations
Just a few days later he met with Andreas Persson, Key Account Manager
Norway, Mafi's CEO Pierre Bengtsson and Jonas Wassdahl, Head of Design.
The meeting exceeded Thomas Henriksen's expectations:
- What Mafi can offer suits us perfectly; the three sector antenna mount.
He continues:
- What is so brilliant with Mafi
is that they created a solution
where they put together their
products into a kit for us. So instead
of ordering ten individual
products each time, I can order
ONE kit that has a specific
order number. That way I'm certain
everything is included. I'm
not sure how it affects Mafi, but
it sure makes things a lot easier
for us at Site Service.
”This kind of response, the
ability to fully grasp my
requirements and putting
it together into a cutting
edge solution is something
I really appreciate.”
- I really like the fact that Mafi makes kits that simplifies the ordering process.
At the same time this decreases the margin of error when ordering. I
know that if the job's been done by Mafi, I can trust that everything needed
is included in the kit.
Mafi soon made another kit that Thomas Henriksen needed, this time it
was beams for radio links.
- We needed the stuff urgently! And we received everything on time. It
took just a week or so from our first meeting until we had everything we
needed.
Now he orders these kits frequently. Shortly afterwards, a colleague ordered
yet another solution from Mafi, based on how smoothly everything had
worked out with the first orders.
Thomas Henriksen is pleased with the quality both on Mafi's products and
customer service.
- The first site we made didn't quite meet the standards. I brought this up
with Andreas and he immediately came up with a new solution, optimized
for our needs. This kind of response, the ability to fully grasp my require-
ments and putting it together into a cutting edge solution is something I
really appreciate.
- Constantly altered conditions for projects and site constructions is everyday
business for us. So we have to adapt. Site constructions are sometimes
put on hold, only to be in urgent need of equipment the next day. Despite
the complexity in these operations, Andreas has been able to provide us
with the equipment quickly.
This August Mafi launched their Norwegian company, Mafi AS, with a warehouse
and office located in the north of Oslo. This has generated an ever
closer cooperation with Mafi for Thomas Henriksen.
- It means a great deal to us, he says. Mafi's office is located near ours.
- It takes 15 minutes for us to pick something up from their warehouse. Thats
very practical and handy for us. We can shorten the delivery time with days
on many of the products. I actually went there a week before it was officially
opened, and was able to get a few steel pipes I was in urgent need of because
of a change of plans on a site we where buildning. It took us 30 minutes, after I
had received a call about the missing pipes, to get back on track.

- It's the big picture. Our initial
meeting went great. How they
displayed their products. How they
customized a package solution

and meets the promised standards.

Ergane | Everything in one place in Oslo
A perfect cooperation in Norway
Ergane is the perfect business
partner for Mafi in Norway.
The company can provide
everything Mafi needs: warehousing,
logistics and administration.
- It felt just right when we
had our first meeting, says
Darek Johansson, Erganes
founder, owner and CEO.
Just a few weeks after the meeting
mentioned by Darek Johansson,
both companies began to stock up
with Mafi's products. And it didn't
take many days for the rumour to
spread through the Norwegian telecom
industry that Mafi's products
were instantly available.
- Yes, that was quick, Darek Johansson
says. We hadn't even had
the official opening before the first
customers showed up.
ergane, which is latin and can be
translated as ”one who works”, was
founded in 2003. The office and warehouse
is located in the north of
Oslo.
The business idea was to link the
high demand for blue collar workers
in Norway, with the large supply of
skilled labor from countries in Central
and Eastern Europe, including Poland,
Hungary and the Baltic states.
The business took off and went very
well. Today Ergane employs over 150
people and produces approximately
200,000 man hours per year.
The basis of our operation is to
hire out skilled labour in the construction
and installation area, Darek
Johansson says. We are market
leaders in installation and store interior
in Norway. We're also working
with telecom. Among others, we
help Resource Telecom, who's our
client, with updating old infrastructure.

Darek Johansson proudly states
that Ergane can handle ”everything,
everywhere”.
- It doesn't matter if a client needs
a trailer, an ATV or a helicopter. We
can fix it!
in august, Swedish Mafi AB and
Norwegian Ergane AS founded the
new Norwegian company Mafi AS.
Mafi owns 51% and 49% Ergane.
Darek Johansson is CEO.
Mafi rents storage space and required
services, such as administration,
from Ergane.
- It's a win-win solution, Darek Johansson
states.
- Our Norwegian clients get much
better service and availability, Mafi's
needs are taken care of cost efficiently
and we expand along with
Mafi's growth.
Darek Johansson is certain of
Mafi's coming success in Norway.
- Indeed, Mafi has great potential
to becoming the main supplier to
the largest Norwegian telecommunication
companies. The huge interest
during our two opening days
certainly indicates this. We had a lot
of guest that were curious and positive.
The fact that Mafi now has a
warehouse and and office in Oslo
shows the gravity in the company's
commitment in Norway. n

Rubber insert for cables
Mafi has developed new rubber insert for power
and fiber cables.
The inserts is designed to fit up to three fiber cables
in a 7/8” cable clamp. The cylindrical design allows
it to be used both as a retrofit in any type of existing
7/8” cable clamp and as a new installation. It is
designed to prevent any deformation of the cables.
The current design is for fiber and power cables
but upon request it can be designed to accommodate
any size and configuration of cables within the
7/8” profile.
The insert can fit up to three cables and have the
same retention regardless of the number of cables
fitted. It can also be used in conjunction with modular
transit systems such as Roxtec.

Tubes on existing
I-and H-beams
This product is designed to be able to
mount tubes on existing I-and Hbeams
on sites in Europe.
It's designed to be able to fit on a beam up to
size HEA200.
The solution is suitable for many purposes, removing
the need for drilling or welding on site.
It will then be possible to mount needed equipment,
such as RRU's, on the tube.
Mafi has designed this product in cooperation
with a client, to match their requirements. It's
quickly become sought after by other clients as
well.

Adapter beam
This is an adapter beam that Huawei's Delta cabinet can be
mounted on.
It's been designed to make it possible to mount them on existing I- or
H-beams on site, with a CC (center-to-center) measure between 570-
720mm.
This is another product designed to function, in a majority of the real
cases that can be encountered, without the need for drilling or welding
on site.

Mafi has employed a new warehouse
supervisor in Mora,
Tomas Bälter.
- Satisfied customers and a well organized
and functional warehouse
are my ambitions, he says.
Tomas Bälter comes from Mora.
He has a lengthy experince from
working in warehouses at big companies.
He believes it is his sense
of orderliness and his ability to
multitask that got him this job. He
worked at Finnveden AB in Mora for
19 years, before the company shut
down it's business. The company
supplied metal components for the
automobile and truck industry. Tomas
Bälter worked both in the warehouse
and as a production planner.
- Besides taking care of Mafi's daily
deliveries together with my colleagues
in the warehouse, the idea
is that I shall observe the operation
with an unbiased mind and come up
with suggestions for improvements.
- Deliveries and daily operations in
the warehouse works well today, he
emphasizes. But as we all know, you
can always improve things. I already
have some ideas on what we could
do.
Tomas Bälter has also worked
with various booking systems. It can
prove useful as Mafi eventually considers
switching.
- The goal is to have the deliveries
reach the clients just-in-time, on the
exact day and location they want it.

I know from experience from the

In his spare time Tomas Bälter enjoys
fishing, hunting and carpentry.
He also enjoys envolving himself in
his childrens, a girl at 11 and a boy
at 14, activities.
- I'm really glad I got this job. Partly
because it's challenging, and also
because it's a very friendly workplace.

Great interest for Mafi in Stockholm
About 80 representatives
from major Swedish operators
in mobile infrastructure
were assembled at a Carrier
Roundtable in Stockholm in
September.
Organizer for the event was Interxion,
a provider of cloud-and
carrier-neutral colocation data
center services in Europe. Mafi
stood as hosts for the event.
The theme for
the evening was
4G/LTE: what
is underway in
Sweden and which
technical solutions
responds efficiently
to the needs?
Participants from
Mafi were Pierre
Bengtsson, CEO,
and Sebastian
Hohenthal, UK Key
account Manager.
- We held a
briefing where
we demonstrated
the products and
services we believe
would meet
the needs of the
continued rollout,
Pierre Bengtsson
says. We have
smart and good
solutions that are both flexible
and time-efficient for mounting.
Moreover, we can offer solutions
for both new sites, and, perhaps
even more common, mounting
antennas and other equipment
on existing antenna mounts.
- It was a great evening, Sebastian
Hohenthal adds. We had a
good response from a number
of companies that showed great
interest in what we offer. n
