5. Participation<br />

This European Cup Juniors is open for all EJU/IJF Member Federations. There is no limit in the<br />

number of participation for each weight category for every federation. The competitors must be<br />

of the same nationality as the national federation, which enters them.<br />

In case a Federation or a club registers an athlete with a different Nationality, a confirmation<br />

letter from the National Federation of the country of which the Athlete holds the passport should<br />

be presented during the accreditation.<br />

In order for an athlete to obtain points for the EJU Ranking List, his/her weight category should<br />

have participants from at least 2 different countries. If this is not the case, the competition can<br />

still be held, according to the organiser’s decision, but the organizer will inform immediately the<br />

NF concerned.<br />

6. Application & Deadlines<br />

According to EJU rules Jumas inscription is obligatory. Participants must be registered in Jumas,<br />

otherwise they will face a late entry fee of € 30 per participant. The deadline is Monday of the<br />

week of the Tournament. Participants without a valid EJU Jumas membership have to pay a € 30<br />

penalty per participant. Jumas membership must then be ordered through the federation.<br />

8. Categories & Duration<br />

Male: -55, -60, -66, -73, -81, -90, -100, +100 kg<br />

Female: -44, -48, -52, -57, -63, -70, -78, +78 kg<br />

Duration: 4 minutes Golden Score: No time limit<br />

9. Weigh-in<br />

Weigh In for each weight category shall be held the evening before the competition day. For<br />

Statistical proposes, a weigh-in in judogi will operated in the morning of competition during<br />

judogi control, prior to the first fight.<br />

Athletes must present accreditation card and his/her passport (National ID Card<br />

showing nationality and date of birth are also accepted).<br />

10. Competition Mode<br />

The competition will be carried out according to the rules and sporting codes of the IJF and EJU.<br />

The new testing rules approved for a period until the WC Rio de Janeiro 2013 will be applied.<br />

Competition systems according to number of participants:<br />

� 6 and more entries: Double repechage<br />

� 3,4,5 entries: Round robin<br />

� 2 entries: better of 2 fights, if 1-1 the third match will decide<br />

Website, Downloads section.<br />

11. Draw<br />

Seeding of the top 4 competitors in each weight category according to the EJU Junior RL. There<br />

will be no separation by nation within the seeded athletes in case there are 2 of the same<br />

nationality.<br />

The draw will take place on Friday at 20:30hrs in Hotel As Galeras.<br />

Each delegation must be represented at the draw (maximum two officials).<br />

Dress code: Jacket suit with tie.<br />

12. Refereeing<br />

Each federation should bring an IJF/Continental licensed referee and may enter a maximum of 2<br />

referees. The organizing federation may enter as many referees as required for the realization of<br />

the tournament. The requirement in refereeing is at least the highest national license and some<br />

years of experience as a referee.<br />

The referee meeting will be held on Saturday 25 May 2013 at 09:00hrs at the Sports Palace. The<br />

attendance to the Referee meeting is strictly compulsory. The referees should be dressed<br />

formally for this meeting.<br />

13. Coaching<br />

All coaches must fully adhere to the Code of Conduct for Judo Coaches.<br />

14. Judogi<br />

All Judoka must compete in IJF Approved Judogi (white and blue judogi are obligatory) - see<br />

official suppliers on the EJU website.<br />

Judogi Control<br />

Judogi control according to Sokuteki rule.<br />

Markings<br />

Judogi markings must be in accordance with the EJU regulations. The space on the shoulder<br />

stripes can be only used by the EJU Suppliers. Advertising on the arms (10cm x 10cm on both<br />

right and left side) can be used by federations and their Judoka as usual for their own benefit.<br />

Backnumber<br />

Each competitor taking part in the EJU events is obliged to have sewn on the back of his judogi<br />

the official backnumber (both EJU and IJF are allowed) bearing his surname and his National<br />

Olympic Committee abbreviation. The backnumber can be ordered from www.ijfbacknumber.com<br />

or www.mybacknumber.com (Attention: production and delivery takes around 4 weeks).<br />

The SPONSOR part (if needed) will be given to the head of delegation during registration, and<br />

the athletes can stick it themselves using the special glue on the back number.<br />

If the Judogi of the athlete does not comply with all the specifications of the EJU and<br />

the IJF, including the Backnumber, the athlete will be disqualified from the<br />

tournament.<br />

15. Transport<br />

Airports: A Coruña or Santiago de Compostela International Airport<br />

The organizer will provide transfers between the A Coruña or Santiago de Compostela<br />

International airport and official hotel and between the official hotel and competition venue.<br />

Transportation will be offered only to those participants who are accommodated in the official<br />

hotel. Participating National Federations are responsible for their own travel to the A Coruña/ESP.<br />

These conditions are for transfers on Friday (until 6 pm) and departure on Monday (Competiton)<br />

and Thursday (training camp). Transfer on other periods may be providing on request. Please<br />

contact organization.<br />

delegate.<br />

18. Responsibility of Federations<br />

The competitors will compete under the full responsibility of their federations. Insurance: Each<br />

national federation is responsible for insuring its competitors against “injury and third part risk<br />

(public liability)” during the period of the championships. The European Judo Union and Spanish<br />

Judo Federation decline all responsibility.<br />

19. Media<br />

AIPS licence holders can apply for Media accreditation at the Hotel As Galeras 24 May 2013 from<br />

14.00 hrs till 18.00 hrs.<br />

20. Visa<br />

For nations who need VISA to enter Spain, please send the enclosed “Visa Application Form”<br />

dully filled not later than 06 May 2013.<br />
