very high standard, because sustainability and the protection of<br />
our environment are firmly anchored in our corporate philosophy.<br />
The environmental aspects are considered in every management<br />
decision, in all functions and on all process levels. For years, we<br />
have been working on avoiding environmental burdens and aim to<br />
reintroduce all raw materials used into the recycling loop in a sensible<br />
and energy-efficient manner. For us, this is part of innovative<br />
product development.<br />
For a better overview, we have divided our very diverse products<br />
into three groups, based on the production method.<br />
TROCELLEN ® classic, our core product line, consists of horizontally foamed XLPO material manu–<br />
factured in rolls or sheets. Since 1972 these foams are regarded as an industry standard based on<br />
their proven application performance. Within this product line we produce two foam variations that<br />
differ in cross-linking technique:<br />
Chemically crosslinked foams (C-foams) are characterized by their very abrasion resistant surface<br />
and excellent thermomouldability, which makes them suitable for very technical applications.<br />
Physically crosslinked foams (P-foams). Due to the physical cross-linking process our p-foams show<br />
very specific properties, differing from c-foams especially in surface and cell structure, but also in<br />
other values like thermal properties, tensile strength, compression set, shrinkage or fogging values.<br />
TROCELLEN ® classic rolls and sheets are typically offered in densities between 25kg/m 3 and<br />
250kg/m 3. The thickness varies between 2 mm and 20 mm. We developed a wide range of foam<br />
modifications which can be characterized by certain specific properties, e.g.: Fire resistance, Temperature<br />
resistance, Softness, Hardness (Rigidity).<br />
TROCELLEN VERTICAL<br />
These physically cross-linked polyolefin foams offer massive potential for a wide range of applications,<br />
where very thin foams with a smooth surface and a fine cell structure are required.<br />
TROCELLEN ® vertical is produced in thicknesses between 0.5 and 6mm and in densities varying from<br />
25 to 180kg/m 3.<br />
Crosslinking by irradiation and vertical foaming technology also permits the incorporation of polypropylene<br />
(PP) as a base resin for foam production. Foams manufactured from PP show a higher<br />
temperature resistance.<br />
TROCELLEN BLOC<br />
Our product line TROCELLEN ® bloc offers chemically cross-linked blockfoams manufactured by<br />
using a discontinuous foaming process. These foams can be produced in higher thicknesses and<br />
show a very smooth cell structure after removing the skin.<br />
TROCELLEN ® bloc is manufactured in densities of 25, 30, 45 and 100kg/m 3. Low densities are originally<br />
produced in 100mm thickness, while our high density foam is produced in 40mm thickness.<br />
All products can be splitted to obtain thin layers, starting from 5mm upwards.<br />

BUSINESS UNIT »<strong>INSULATION</strong>«<br />
The mission of the BU Insulation is to support the needs of the<br />
customers operating in the thermal insulation market segment,<br />
by technologically innovated products and solutions, easy to use,<br />
safe from the toxicological point of view and with a low thermal<br />
conductivity.<br />
TROCELLEN ® chemically cross-linked, closed cell, PE foams perfectly<br />
satisfy these simple base requirements. TROCELLEN ® is<br />
practically a waterproof material, able to keep the insulation premises<br />
even when exposed to high values of air humidity, which is<br />
difficult for other insulating products. TROCELLEN ® is environmentally<br />
friendly. The correct thermal insulation of the buildings,<br />
air ducting and pipes, reduces the consumption of the energy.<br />
The customer can face new applications, safe in the knowledge<br />
that they will be supported by a Company able to transfer its knowhow<br />
into economically favourable solutions.<br />
The BU-Insulation is able to find solutions to the many norms and<br />
certifications. This is due to a strong relationship between the<br />
R&D activity, which lives the market and the customer, and the<br />
Application Engineers.<br />
TROCELLEN ® has not only the experience in foam production, but<br />
also in the manufacture of finished products:<br />
• Sleeves made by X-linked PE foam/Aluminium and high thickness<br />
pipes for heating equipment.<br />
• Pre-insulated copper pipes for air conditioning.<br />
• Adhesive PE foam rolls for air ducting or industrial installations.<br />
AIR DUCTING<br />
The properties of TROCELLEN ® products for this application are<br />
related to its very low vapour transmission. Together with its interesting<br />
thermal resistance value, they are able to ensure high<br />
and long lasting thermal insulation and an efficient condensation<br />
treatment. For this reason, TROCELLEN ® is used for covering the<br />
best performing air ducting installations in this sector.<br />
The good stiffness and mechanical resistance of the cross-linked<br />
polyethylene ensures the consistency of the thicknesses at<br />
the edges even after mounting, and has abrasion resistance properties.<br />
The great versatility and the conversion with a variety of finishes<br />
completes the product range raising both mechanical properties<br />
and the application functionality (fire reaction, clean ability, anti<br />
scratch).<br />
SLEEVES<br />
The thermal insulation for technical installations is guided by the<br />
national laws of energy saving. It is the reference parameter on<br />

which TROCELLEN ® developed these products. Sleeves made by<br />
TROCELLEN ® give consistent, high technical characteristics and a<br />
very nice visual aspect. The diameters and the production thicknesses<br />
are based on the technical requirement, and the long-lasting<br />
property of the product ensures a long service life.<br />
HIGH THICKNESS PIPE <strong>INSULATION</strong><br />
Producers of insulating systems that have been overtaken TRO-<br />
CELLEN ® in the past produced high thickness pipe insulation by<br />
injecting PU semi-rigid foam into two sleeves of polyethylene.<br />
Meanwhile TROCELLEN ® started various development projects to<br />
transfer these products into PE based insulation materials. First<br />
types were made by automatically bending stripes into pipes with<br />
a welding line.<br />
Thanks to the collaboration with our shareholder Furukawa we developed<br />
a special equipment to produce higher thicknesses and<br />
diameters of pipe insulation. To complete the product range our<br />
partners prepared the necessary accessories like bends and T-pieces.The<br />
products are available under the trade name »ISO-COM-<br />
PACT«.<br />

TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT <strong>INSULATION</strong><br />
TROCELLEN ® has been used for many years to insulate technical<br />
equipment. Properties like e.g. reduction of condensation, ageing<br />
resistance and the absence of fibres guarantee the excellent performance.<br />
PRE-INSULATED COPPER PIPES<br />
The piping for the thermal fluid distribution of boilers, heating<br />
pumps and inverters need an effective thermal insulation which<br />
avoids as much as possible the energy dispersion and ensures the<br />
efficiency of the plant.<br />
Once the insulation material is defined, the main difficulty is the<br />
installation, moreover if the insulating sleeve must be threaded on<br />
a small diameter like the copper pipe one. In order to avoid this<br />
problem directly at the source, TROCELLEN ® produces industrially<br />
pre-insulated copper pipes.<br />
The installer only has to take care of the connection quality of the<br />
single pieces and the insulation of the connection areas.<br />
ACCESSORIES<br />
The positioning of a thermal system is efficient only even if the<br />
finishing is done professionally.<br />
It is, for example, the case of the various joints and connections<br />
of a technical plant, which must be insulated at least at the same<br />
quality level as the rest of the plant.<br />
TROCELLEN ® has developed a set of accessories, completed by<br />
strips, tapes, bands, die-cut and thermo-formed pieces, which ensures<br />
the best possible solution.
