Venue<br />

Konya (Turkish pronunciation: [ˈkon.ja]) is a city in the Central Anatolia<br />

Region of Turkey. It the seventh most populous city in Turkey. As of 2011 the<br />

Konya Metropolitan Municipality had a population close to 1.1 million.<br />

Culture<br />

Konya has the reputation of being one of the more religiously conservative<br />

metropolitan centers in Turkey. It was once known as the "citadel of Islam" <strong>and</strong> its<br />

inhabitants<br />

Konya was the final home of Rumi, whose tomb is in the city, <strong>and</strong> whose followers established<br />

in 1273 the Mevlevi Sufi order of Islam there <strong>and</strong> became known as the whirling dervishes.<br />

are still comparatively more devout than those from other cities.


A Turkish folk song is named "Konyalım" (making reference to a loved one from Konya).<br />

Konya produced Turkish carpets that were exported to Europe during the Renaissance.<br />

These expensive, richly-patterned textiles were draped over tables, beds, or chests to<br />

proclaim the wealth <strong>and</strong> status of their owners, <strong>and</strong> were often included in the contemporary<br />

oil paintings as symbols of the wealth of the painter's clients.<br />

The diet of people includes a large amount of bulgur wheat <strong>and</strong> lamb meat.<br />

Entry fee<br />

30 % of the entry fee shall be paid together with the 1st entry by numbers <strong>and</strong> the remaining<br />

amount together with the final entry.<br />

The price per person <strong>for</strong> the whole stay including:<br />

- Accommodation (sharing in double rooms <strong>and</strong> in some cases triple rooms)<br />

- meals (from dinner arrival day to breakfast departure day)<br />

- local transports (hotel - competition/training venue)<br />

- INAS capitation fee is<br />

Cost <strong>for</strong> single room extra 30 Euro per day & person<br />

Medical service<br />

Sports medical staff will be present during each day of the competition. An ambulance will be<br />

waiting in the race venue <strong>and</strong> a doctor always be available in the venue.<br />

INAS World Championships - Athlete Eligibility<br />

All athletes entering the INAS event must appear on the INAS Classification Master List<br />

no later than the final entry deadline. Applications <strong>for</strong> new athletes must be submitted to INAS as<br />

soon as possible.<br />

Turkish National Championships<br />

Non INAS athletes will be accepted as guests <strong>for</strong> the Turkish National Championships.<br />

Accreditation<br />

Accreditation cards will be issued to each athlete only after he/she has personally<br />

shown his/her valid passport to the Event Eligibility Officer. Accreditation will<br />

also be provided to staff <strong>and</strong> other officials on registration, with passport <strong>and</strong> two<br />

passport photos.<br />

Health care<br />

It is necessary <strong>for</strong> all participants to have contributory insurance cover.<br />

Language<br />

Materials/in<strong>for</strong>mation will be available in English.
