Ruins of the Duke of York’s Chapel, Wakefield Bridge
Richard Ramsay Reinagle (1775 – 1862)
The Hepworth Wakefield’s collection of Yorkshire images is the most important in the region.
Wakefield itself attracted many artists from the 18th Century onwards, who came to record
the city’s distinctive skyline and the medieval Chantry Chapel, which survives to this day. The
Chapel has been more frequently painted and drawn than any other local subject.
