crush run of mine material in<br />

one step down to the required<br />

product size either for vertical<br />

roller mills as for ball mills.<br />

The main crushing process of a<br />

<strong>Double</strong> <strong>Shaft</strong> <strong>Hammer</strong> <strong>Crusher</strong><br />

is performed by rotating<br />

hammers between the rotors<br />

and on the anvil. It is important<br />

to understand, that the material<br />

is not ‘ground’ on the grate<br />

baskets.<br />

The grate baskets calibrate the<br />

material grain size by different<br />

openings, in order to produce<br />

raw material either for<br />

ball mills (0/25 mm) or<br />

vertical mills (0/80 mm).<br />

Five axle rotor<br />

Patented by <strong>ThyssenKrupp</strong><br />

Based on its long operational<br />

experience <strong>ThyssenKrupp</strong><br />

developed a new rotor concept<br />

for the TITAN ® crushers with an<br />

impact circle diameter of 2m.<br />

Instead of six axles the number<br />

of hammer rows of the rotors<br />

was reduced to five.<br />

This modified design results in<br />

an optimized penetration of the<br />

lumps between the hammers<br />

and an aggressive and fast<br />

crushing process. ‘Rolling’ of<br />

the stones on the rotor and<br />

blocking of the crusher is<br />

eliminated with this new system.<br />

In addition the new geometry<br />

of the pentagon shaped<br />

rotor shafts and the modified<br />

discs allowed to increase the<br />

weight of the hammers resulting<br />

in stronger impact forces and an<br />

optimized wear volume of the<br />

hammers. The benefits for the<br />

client are higher throughput<br />

rates at reduced operational and<br />

maintenance costs.<br />
