lice News Justice was swifi for one Squamish man after he broke into a local service station on Jan. 21. The man broke a window to gain entry and cut himself in the pro- cess. RCMP officers responding to the alarm followed the trail of blood a d arrested Michael Simp- son, 33. Simpson appeared in Squamish Provincial Court where he pleaded guilty and was sen- tenced to six months in jail. Q Thieves entered a residence on Thunderbird Ridge on Jan. 2 1. There were no signs of forced entry but the crooks escaped with several items of clothing, a Sony stereo and a skateboard. D Vandals broke the lock off a freezer outside the Big SCOOP restaurant on Cleveland Avenue on the night of Jan. 23. Police believe it was done by the same individuals who cut a hole in a fence and then broke the lock off a Dairyland truck on nearby Gal- braith Avenue the same evening. Q Thieves entered a North Ridge Drive home through a rear window on Jan. 23 and stole a watch, a Wallaman and some change. tl A Guildford Drive residence was broken into on Jan. 24 with the culprits escaping with a stereo and a quantity of alcohol. a RCMP were kept busy in the early morning hours of Jan. 25 as cigarette thieves struck just minutes apart at two businesses locat- ed at opposite ends of the cornu- - nity. At 1:06 a.m., police responded to an alarm at Highlands Grocery where the culprits had broken a window and stolen a quantity of cigarettes. Just six minutes later, police were called to Shoppers Drug Mart in the Chieftain Centre as thieves struck the business for the fourth time in two weeks. A front window was broken and once again, cigarettes were the main objective. RCMP have suspects in both incidents. c11 Several boats moored at the Squamish Yacht Club were broken into on two successive nights, Jan. 26 and 27. On the first night four boats were broken into and the culprits returned the following night to break into a fifth boat.
