One-sided operability shortens

The new PERI MAXIMO wall formwork system created a tremendous
amount of interest with visitors to this year´s bauma trade fair in Munich.
With the MAXIMO, a new generation of panel formwork was presented
which combines the insights and findings gained over many years from
previous panel formwork systems as well as offering additional
advantages.
For almost two decades now, the TRIO panel formwork with the optimized
BFD alignment coupler has demonstrated its speed and versatile
functionality – and with the introduction of the TRIO Housing, the handling
was improved even more through the ties being fitted from one side only,
resulting in substantially reduced shuttering times. The new MAXIMO has
been designed to include both these outstanding product features. In
addition, the centrically-positioned tie points in all element sizes mean that
concrete surfaces with attractive architecturally-designed tie and joint
arrangements can also be created.
These advantages match the requirements of numerous building
contractors such as those of Mayer Construction, a company which is
based in the town of Ruhpolding in the state of Bavaria. For their wide
range of building projects in the areas of housing development, industrial
construction as well as civil and underground engineering, the speed and
the flexibility of the MAXIMO is particularly in demand. On the one hand, a
wall formwork system should be quick and easy to use and, on the other,

it must exhibit multi-purpose usability for reinforced concrete walls,
foundations, columns and beams.
Mayer´s fourth use of the MAXIMO formwork involved forming the
reinforced concrete walls of a rectangular-shaped cellar for a semidetached
house, with an 11 x 14 metre ground plan, in two cycles.
Instead of having to set aside the usual four days to complete the job,
foreman Enrico Schirmer required only three days using MAXIMO - with a
formwork crew of only three men. Schirmer attributes the time-savings
achieved quite clearly to the fact that the MAXIMO formwork must only be
anchored from one side. As it happens, due to the newly developed,
conical tie system, spacer tubes are no longer required. This keeps site
movements to an absolute minimum and saves on resources as well as
time. Very few different system components, suited for construction sites
and the rigid corner design also contribute to faster forming.
A positive side-effect is also the fact that using the MAXIMO with its
centrically-arranged tie points throughout always results in a neat tie and
joint arrangement. Because all tie positions are filled, no unsightly
impressions of PVC plugs appear on the concrete finish itself.
Furthermore, the systematized and clear tie point specifications lead to
error-free forming – this additionally accelerates the shuttering times. "The
MAXIMO is unbeatable", said Enrico Schirmer, and added: "I am very
impressed and totally convinced about the system".
