and <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> first of <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> didrachms have <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> epsil<strong>on</strong> as a single letter, while <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> o<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>r two<br />

have in additi<strong>on</strong> a upsil<strong>on</strong>. In <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> positi<strong>on</strong> of <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> epsil<strong>on</strong>, and <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> shape of <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> rose<br />

(toge<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>r with <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> absence of <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> incuse square present <strong>on</strong> 5 and 8), <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> coin 10 is<br />

perhaps most similar to <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> stamp, <strong>on</strong> which however I have not read a upsil<strong>on</strong>.<br />

A date in <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> fourth century, which had been indicated by <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> fabric of <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> handle<br />

from Delos, is thus c<strong>on</strong>firmed by <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> numismatic parallel for its stamp. It has finally<br />

also become possible to cite a Rhodian stamped handle found in fourth century c<strong>on</strong>text:<br />

no. 70 in <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> publicati<strong>on</strong>, now in press, of <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> stamped wine jar fragments from <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

excavati<strong>on</strong>s of <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> Pnyx, to appear in Hesperia, Supplement X. <strong>The</strong> stamp names<br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> fabricant Ev'bp&v and an ep<strong>on</strong>ym 'Ay[ in <strong>on</strong>e of <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> uncomm<strong>on</strong> early combinati<strong>on</strong><br />

types.<br />
