Agatha Christie was a writer : her nickname was the Queen of Crime. She
created 2 famous characters : Hercule Poirot is a Belgian detective and Miss
Marple is an old lady.
2 of her novels were adapted for the cinema : Murder On The Orient Express
in 1974 and Death On The Nile in 1978. Agatha Christie died in 1976.

Agatha Christie was born on 15th September 1890 in Torquay. She studied at home
with her mother, then she studied piano and singing in Paris.
In 1914 she married Archibald Christie. She had one daughter in 1919. In 1928 she
divorced and she married again in 1930. Her husband was an archaelogist.
She wrote her first detective novel in 1920 : its title was ''The Mysterious Affair at
Styles''. In all she wrote more than 60 detective novels and more than 12 plays.
Agatha Christie died in 1976 of natural causes.
