Special events and entertainment include the band "Combo Special"
Our keynote speaker is Kendall Coffey, former head of one of the largest federal prosecutors' offices in America
featured speakers include Jack Marshall who, along with guitarist Michael Messer, will explore the latest
developments in the dynamic field of professional ethics through a musical CLE program featuring classic
rock parodies from the 70s and 80s. We are also delighted to feature U.S. District Judge Christina Armijo, Chief
Justice Charles Daniels, and Governor Susana Martinez.
Back by popular demand is the informative and educational ABA Techshow Road Show. Our CLE programs
Again, welcome to the 2011 Annual Meeting at the Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino. If we can do anything
24 State Bar of New Mexico

We’ve come a long Way, too!
1995:
State Bar of New Mexico
Legal Assistants Division
today:
PARALEGAL DIVISION
PROUD SPONSOR OF THE
2011 ANNUAL MEETING BENCH & BAR CONFERENCE
• 1995—the New Mexico Supreme Court amended Rule 24-101(B) NMRA of the Rules
Governing the New Mexico Bar to create a division of the State Bar of New Mexico for
legal assistants. On August 26, the Division’s first meeting was held.
• 2003-2004—the New Mexico Supreme Court amended its legal assistant rules to
conform to the national trend of use of the term “paralegal” changing the name of the
Legal Assistants Division to the Paralegal Division.
• The Division is one of only a handful of state bar paralegal divisions nationwide and is
the only statewide professional organization for New Mexico paralegals.
• Division members enjoy the same State Bar benefits as attorneys and in addition have
access to the Division’s website, a share site for networking, CLE seminars that are
video-cast throughout the state and more.
