Stock Show Rodeos Continued From Page 8 In 2010, the NFR qualifi ers used their Winter Rodeo earnings to vault themselves towards the top of the standings. In fact in 2010, 9 of the 15 NFR qualifi ers won over 20% of their pre-NFR money at the Winter Rodeos. They were led by Houston winner Sherry Cervi, who won 41% (an impressive $73,688) of her earnings through the winter rodeos even though they only represented 14% of her total rodeos entered. Christina Richman won nearly half (46%) her earn- ings during the winter rodeos even through they made up only 16% of her total rodeos entered. Although, the Winter Rodeo earnings boosted most of the NFR Qualifi ers, Brenda Mays only earned 8% of her earnings in the winter. It’s also apparent that the women with greater success in the winter were able to enter fewer rodeos the rest of the year and space out their rodeos.
