general meeting of the <strong>Duffield</strong><br />
Community Association.<br />
New officials for the Association<br />
are likely to be announced at the<br />
meting including the successor(s)<br />
o he late secretary Derek Cook.<br />
It’s already time to start<br />
planning for <strong>Duffield</strong> Carnival<br />
<strong>2013</strong> to build on the success of<br />
2012.<br />
Fresh faces are always welcome at<br />
committee meetings or a helping<br />
pair of hands at any time.<br />
The next meeting of the <strong>Duffield</strong><br />
Carnival Committee is on<br />
Wednesday 9th <strong>January</strong> <strong>2013</strong> at<br />
8pm in the function room upstairs<br />
at the Pattenmakers Arms.<br />
Please come and join the fun.<br />
On Saturday, 5th <strong>January</strong> the<br />
speaker at the <strong>Duffield</strong><br />
Gardening Club will be David<br />
Mountfort who will give a talk<br />
Village Jottings<br />
entitled “A Small Garden From<br />
Scratch”.<br />
The Gardening Club meet at 10<br />
am at the Weston Centre,<br />
Tamworth Street.<br />
Entrance for non-members £1.50p<br />
including coffee/tea. All are<br />
welcome.<br />

On Saturday <strong>January</strong> 5th<br />
contractors will be removing<br />
Xmas trees in the village and<br />
taking them to the Weston<br />
Centre where Gerard Varin<br />
and his team would much<br />
appreciate volunteers arriving<br />
about 10.30 am armed with<br />
cutters and small scissors for<br />
removing the lights - under<br />
cover. If you can help please<br />
inform Gerard on 841275 or just<br />
