A NOTE FROM YOUR PRESIDENT...<br />
First of all thank you for allowing me to be your President for another year.<br />
Once again I feel we have a very strong group of people on the board, that will<br />
work hard to make sure everything goes great. I have no doubt that everyone on<br />
the board feels the same way as I do about the SDTA, we are a family and I<br />
hope that never changes, with that please know that I feel very honored to be<br />
your president.<br />
I wanted to tell all of you thank you for attending this past years show. I<br />
think as an association we are going in the right direction to make the show the<br />
best it can be. We are going to be changing a few things for next year's show.<br />
The first thing is that I am working with the Best Western Hotel in Sioux Falls<br />
for next year's show. It has many more positives than the Holiday Inn does.<br />
They are also willing to work with us and they want us, which makes it feel like<br />
its a good move. Kyle Monteith has gone there and checked everything out and<br />
he said it will work great. Next we have moved the dates back a week to March<br />
21-24, 2013. We are going to get away from state basketball. I feel by doing<br />
this move we will gain a few more members from North <strong>Dakota</strong> that have back<br />
to back shows. That is a lot of driving and money for back to back weekends!<br />
Hopefully this move will also gain people that have kids in state basketball.<br />
Next there will also be a change regarding the banquet meal, if you DO NOT<br />
PRE-REGISTER for the meal you will NOT get a ticket. This change is for<br />
the best I think. As I said at the meeting we paid for a lot of meals we didn't<br />
use. I cannot stress it enough you ALL Must Pre-Register next year.<br />
Remember, if you have a website of your own, it would be nice to see a link<br />
on there for the SDTA. You can copy our logo and website address and add it<br />
as a hyperlink on your webpage.<br />
The Judges were great once again, I think we as a board have done a great<br />
job on getting the best judges that fit in with our association. I hope everyone<br />
learned something, I know I learned a lot, like the Scotsman's DO NOT where<br />
anything under there kilts! Thanks lady's!<br />
This year we also gained a couple new vendors, which is great. All the vendors<br />
had a great time and hopefully it will work for all of them to come next<br />
year. Hopefully we can gain a couple new vendors for next year as well. For the<br />
vendors to come we need to make sure to support everyone of them Van<br />
Dykes, Matuska, Bluff Country, and Wes Kohler and also make sure and support<br />
the suppliers that donate to our association, common sense says they help<br />
us why not help them. If you won an award, it would be great if you even took<br />
the time to call or email and thank that sponsor for your award as it sure helps<br />
for next year when we call and ask them to sponsor again!<br />
Also we are putting together the gun calendars, we still need more advertisement<br />
to get the printing started. If anyone knows anyone that wants to advertise<br />
let Shane at 507-380-5198 and Glenda 605-460-2133 know. Remember<br />
this is a great way to raise a lot of money and we need everyone's support.<br />
$100 gets you an ad and also a Free Calendar (a $40 value).<br />
Please remember if your address or email address changes throughout the<br />
year to please email Glenda with the changes so we can keep in contact. We<br />

For the new members, I hope you all had a great time and you felt right at<br />
home. It was great to meet all of you. Hope to see you all again next year.<br />
Remember if anyone has any comments or suggestions you can always come<br />
to one of the board members and we will try to accommodated you as we can.<br />
We are always looking for new and better ideas.<br />

TREASURERS REPORT...<br />
Thank you again for electing me back another year as your SDTA<br />
Secretary/Treasurer. I really do enjoy helping out with all that I can.<br />
Also thank you for selecting me as this years winner of the Distinguished<br />
Service Award. As I’m sure everyone could tell, Kyle caught me<br />
off guard at the awards banquet...you have no idea how much it really<br />
means to me! Also thank you All for your compliments on my continued<br />
improvements with the preregistration, newsletters and website. I, like rest<br />
of the board, put in a lot of volunteered hours and hope that everyone sees<br />
and enjoys the improvements that we are trying to make to help our association<br />
grow. We really cannot stress enough how everyone should remember<br />
to support those businesses that support the SDTA with all their<br />
awards, donations, etc. I ask that you please take the time and thank them<br />
the next time you call and place an order, let them know they are appreciated!<br />
Remember to get your business cards and money sent in ASAP to participate<br />
on the Gun Calendar. As soon as we have enough advertising we<br />
will get them printed and start selling them. Remember this is a tax write<br />
off plus you could win a gun!!<br />
We all feel the move to Sioux Falls was a success and we are in the<br />
works to have it there again next year. As always we are open to any suggestions<br />
and new ideas so please contact one of us.<br />
Hopefully we will see some of you at the SD Outdoor Expo June 9-10<br />
at Huron, remember the booth is for any SDTA member so come join us,<br />
it is great FREE advertising, call me for more info!!<br />
