Dear Reader,
The Norsafe Group continues to grow and in 2007
an important milestone was achieved, with more than
750 Boats and 450 Davits delivered from our
production facilities in Asia and Europe. For 2008, the
production forecast is over 900 Boats and 700 Davits.
Whilst Norsafe increases in capacity, the company
remains focused on the excellent quality of our products
and will further improve this during this year.
Additionally, for 2008 and the future, our Customers
shall have improved attention as our Project
Management function is further strengthened. Norsafe
is well aware that Shipyards and Oil Companies are
constantly evaluating supplier performance and we
need to deliver on time, with focus upon installation,
system start up and testing - all completed in the minimum
of time.
Norsafe is continuously developing our World-Wide
Service net work and have in the last month acquired
our existing service agent in Singapore, Abemarine.
Norsafe intend also to establish a much stronger presence
in Holland and the Middle East. We have now
certified more than 40 Service Partners and have 5
Service Stations that are directly owned by Norsafe. In
addition, we have mutual working relationships to
more than 40 Service Stations belonging to other
Lifeboat Companies. This gives capacity to carry out
yearly Service and Certification on 14 to 15,000 vessels.
This is our way of qualifying to fulfill IMO 1206
Resolution. Norsafe is progressing to achieve our target
of servicing lifesaving equipment onboard a third
of the World Fleet.

Free Fall Lifeboats
in the North Sea
Since summer 2005 an extensive development work
have been performed within the Norwegian offshore
sector to increase safety. The work has been guided by
the OLF Joint Industry Working Group divided into Phase
1 and Phase 2.
During the project phases new requirements have been
developed and offshore operators have increased their
focus on safety. The new standard is giving requirements
above the SOLAS Regulation.
Norsafe AS has been a member of the OLF Joint Industry
Working Group from the beginning and has taken a leading
position by developing a new Free Fall Lifeboat
which is scheduled to be full scale tested during the
upcoming summer. Orders are signed with the

Norwegian oil company StatoilHydro and Leirvik Module
Technology for delivery of the new free fall lifeboat both
to the Gjøa platform and the Troll “A” platform. Order is
also signed with Saipem for delivery of the same free
fall lifeboats for Scarabo 8.
In the design of new free fall lifeboat we have focused
on 100 year condition (wind and waves), strength,
forward speed, acceleration forces (CAR values) and
human comfort. New seats and seatbelts are developed.
Safety is our concern and we would like to use this opportunity
to thank all people involved in OLF Joint
Industry Working Group for constructive and challenging
discussions.

MUNIN FRC/DAUGHTER CRAFT
This rescue boat has been designed and constructed for
offshore use in rough water. It will provide high-sustained
speeds in harsh offshore environments.
The layout is arranged with a continuous main deck with
seating provided for the crew and survivors in the main
and front cabin. The boat has been specifically built to fulfil
a search and rescue function and to meet the latest IMO
regulations for fast rescue boats.
Munin 1200 has Seating for crew of 3 or 8 persons in
separate shock absorbing seating positions. Seats are purpose
designed with shock absorbing capabilities to provide
comfort and equipped with 4-point safety belts
Capacity is a maximum of 24 persons (including crew),
there is also provision for securely stowing two stretchers.
Propulsion is Twin Diesel Engines driving Twin Waterjets or
optional surface piercing propellers for even higher speed.
The engines are equipped with fresh water-cooling system.
Typical engine power is 2 x 440 hp.
The propulsion system is suitable for both shallow waters
as well as high speeds in adverse conditions. The water jet
is minimizing the risk of injuring swimming survivors.
The boat is further designed to operate away from the
Mother Ship for extended periods, with sufficient range for
long time operation and large walk around cabin providing
a protected and comfortable environment for crew and
passengers.
The lay out and performance of the boat also allow it to
perform other roles including, dive support, inspection,
patrol, survey and work boat duties.
Statoil is one of our customers who has chosen Munin for
some of their platforms.
Statfjord A, Statfjord B and Statfjord C is all equipped with
Munin rescue boats.
Also Dubai Police department, Abu Dhabi Police, PGS,
Esvagt are some of our customers who choose Munin for
various projects.
In China Norsafe has 210 employees
A full fledged lifeboat factory manufactures lifeboats and
rescue boats, mainly for the Asian markets.

Recently Norsafe delivered two Munin 1200 jet Daughter crafts to Abu Dhabi Police
Test-driving in Arendal with one Munin daughter craft to Dubai Police.
Recently Norsafe delivered two Munin 1200 jet Daughter
crafts to Abu Dhabi Police. These boats are tailor made
according to customers needs.
They are equipped with 2 x 440 hp engines with 2 x
Hamilton 274/0 HSRX hydraulic Manoeuvring. This gives
a speed for approx 36 knots with crew of 3 persons.
One of our senior R & D engineers Thomas Thomson went
to Abu Dhabi to give some of the policemen training in
operation and maintenance of the boats.
One of the advantages with our Munin is that we can in
many cases make tailor made boats for our customers
when it comes to colours, engines, and extra equipment.
High quality rescue boats like this is important to Norsafe,
it helps us keep our position as a market leader within
these segments.
In Greece Norsafe has 90 employees

Lifeboat Service de
Mexico S.A. de C.V.
Norsafe signed a service contract with
Integrated Trade Systems Inc. (ITS) in
2006. ITS is a subsidiary of PEMEX
(Petroleos Mexicanos) established in
Houston, TX.
Derived from the contract signed in
2006, NORSAFE AS established a subsidiary
named Lifeboat Service de México
S.A. de C.V. in early 2007.
Up to now service orders for PEMEX
Cantarell – and Ku-Maloob-Zaap fields
have been performed successfully, and
new orders are to be signed shortly. In
addition to the above several service
orders have been performed for other
client as KeppelAMFELS, Swecomex and
Mantenimiento Marino de México
among others.
We are impressed to see how PEMEX is
focusing on safety and how they are
adopting stricter procedures for marine
safety on their offshore installation.
Norsafe’s present in Mexico has
proven to fulfil a need for qualified
service and commissioning assistance
and we look forward to develop
further business relation with PEMEX
and other players in Mexico.

LATEST NEWS!
Norsafe can report high activity and a great number of
new contracts have been signed.
A few to be mentioned:
Samjin Shipbuilding Industries has awarded Norsafe contract for delivery of
lifesaving equipment for 32 vessels. Delivery takes place in 2008 until 2010.
SLS Shipbuilding has signed a contract with Norsafe for lifesaving equipment on 16
chemical tankers. The contract covers freefall lifeboats and rescue boats with davits.
The deliveries take place from January 2009 until June 2011.
BW Offshore signed contract with Norsafe for delivery of lifeboats and davits for
FPSO Cascade and Chinook. Delivery takes place in middle of November 2008.
Norsafe position as world leading supplier of rescue boats is getting stronger. New
orders are signed with Transocean, Fugro Geoteam, Dolphin Drilling Ltd. among
others.
Norsafe has signed a contract with Pride International for delivery of lifeboat to
one of their semi submersible drilling rig.
Factorias Vulcano chooses Norsafe for delivery of lifesaving equipment to a new
flotel owned by Polycrest. Delivery will take place in 2009.
In 2009 Norsafe will deliver freefall lifeboat and davit to Woodside Pluto LNG
Project.
Daewoo Shipbuilding has signed contract with Norsafe for delivery of freefall
systems and fast rescue boats for a new Odfjell drilling rig.

Knut joined the Norsafe sales team two years ago and has wide experience of sales and marketing work from previous employment.
Knut is a qualified engineer with sales experience from the Ugland Group, and has conducted negotiations with customers in Norway
and overseas for many years. Knut is also leading Norsafe’s sales activities in The Middle East, Spain, Netherlands and Brazil.
Besides work, Knut enjoys sports and exploring the great outdoors with family and friends. Fortunately for his new position, Knut
enjoys exploring new countries, and he loves to taste the local food in countries he visits. Knut is a considerate and outgoing person,
and Norsafe has benefited greatly from his contribution in the last years.

as qualified service technicians are trained, tested and certified at our facilities. Norsafe can therefore, by way of its
