THE ODIN BROTHERHOOD: According to the legends, the<br />
shrouded woman first made this declaration:<br />
Without the gods, a soul wanders but is not free.<br />
Then, after embracing each child three times, the shrouded<br />
woman gave them the three directives.<br />
AUTHOR: And what were these three directives?<br />
THE ODIN BROTHERHOOD: First, the shrouded woman<br />
told the children to form a conspiracy of equals—a conspiracy<br />
in which every member is a leader.<br />
AUTHOR: What was the second directive?<br />
THE ODIN BROTHERHOOD: The shrouded woman told<br />
the children to honor the gods with clandestine rites in deserted<br />
places.<br />
AUTHOR: And the third directive?<br />
THE ODIN BROTHERHOOD: She instructed the children to<br />
share their knowledge with the few they trusted.<br />
AUTHOR: So the children were to proselytize?<br />
THE ODIN BROTHERHOOD: Before he dies—before he<br />
penetrates the mystery of the outer blackness—every <strong>Odin</strong>ist<br />
must pass on the wisdom of his secret.<br />
AUTHOR: After the conveyance of the three directives, what<br />
happened next?<br />
THE ODIN BROTHERHOOD: The woman made this<br />
declaration before returning to the grave:
